"Them."

Its all dodge /thread

They got jewed by GM multiple times and finally jewed by Lee Iacocca himself. AMC could have pulled off miracle in the 90s with is new line of modern cars. Like the premier, and rebadged Mitsubishis and Renaults. The jeep brand was always going strong.

>mfw just bought amc
Feels good man

Swap GM with Chryster and you got it right.

12hedron.tumblr.com/post/160039536846/where-is-chrysler-going

they continued building the same cars with bad engines, then when markets got global their product could only fit in North America while Europe and Asia shredded the 3 sisters.

in chryslers defense daimler raped the shit out of them and left them for dead

The corvair wasn't more popular.

gm took saturn and got rid of the saturn formula.
>cheap
>fuel efficient
>durable
>no haggle dealer price

saturn was the closest thing america had to a domestic honda

true but the lack of nice design spawned some horrors.

no one bought saturns for cutting edge design

this was well designed but came too soon for the NA market.

>finally jewed by Lee Iacocca himself
I thought he saved Chrysler from bankruptcy?

that wasnt what a saturn used to be thats when gm fucked the saturn formula up

Are saturns better reliablity/durablity wise than any of the other domestics of their time? I'm looking for a beater sub $1500 and see quite a few of them.

They're pretty decent - the Civic of America.

The main problems with them is that they burn oil and they rust out since many of them are old as fuck by this point.

they held up better because think of who buys a civic with no options basically libruls

i had a brochure of a saturn s series from the 90s and it was basically this car is economical and friendly to the environment and well made even though it looks boring and is cheap

they didn't market it properly, but america is the land of plenty so why should they go for a saturn when they can splurge on a lincoln?

people bought em and there used to be plenty of commercials for em problem is gm thought they could take shitty opels and sell them as saturns instead

Saturn is garbage

I like how not one of you has actually praised any particular car, you just keep repeating the same lies over and over.

This board is fucking done. I'm so sick of all the bait and fake posts.

yes, just look above in the pic.

The s series was fantastic

Everything else was cross platform gm garbage forced on them by the brass

Stop bieng a petulant child.

AMC could have been dominant. They were the very first American manufacturer to focus on compact, fuel efficient cars. They started doing this in the 1950s, and got a reputation for being an economical choice because George Romney had them make that shift to compacts right before the Recession of 1957 hit. AMC might not have sold as many of them compared to Ford, but people knew "AMC=Economical Transportation". That was their cachet, and if they had followed it up into the 70s, they would have been in the literal best possible place to reap the oil embargo. If AMC had been there to take up the compact slack while the rest of the Big 3 got their shit together, they might have actually become the Big 4 like they always dreamed. Hell, they might have even kept the Japanese from making serious inroads into the country.

However, George Romney was the big proponent behind AMC focusing on compacts. He was the one who decided that AMC would fill that niche because the Big 3 was ignoring it, and when he left to become Governor of Michigan, the guy they brought in to replace him discarded that vision. He had AMC start to try and compete with the Big 3 head-on in every level of the market, and that was a fight AMC just simply could not win. It lead to their downfall.

>GM - literal jew of motor industry, brainlet choice
>Ford - great history, ok trucks, still a plebeian choice
>Chrysler - best sports cars best trucks best best off roads best family vans, now with extra Italiano heritage!
>AMC
...wait what

You lost me at Chrysler

amc died for our sins

Ford will always be #1. Maserati and Fiat are both garbage companies, especially Maserati since Chrysler has owned them. Dodge sucks cock and everyone likes their cars cuz supercharger meme. Slap a supercharger on any big engine and it's fast. Big deal. Chrysler is a Shit.

GM blows too.

Fords got the best trucks, brought us the pony/muscle car, innovates constantly. Every company wishes it could be ford.

People like the big dumb engines be use the name behind the cars and the price point.

To get what you get in a hellcat you gotta buy a lambo to compete. Which is also like 4x the price

FIX

A hellcat goes fast in a straight line. Plus a supercharger/twin turbo system is 5-8k, 10k at the most. Coyotes can reach 1200hp with twin turbo no problem. Comparing a Lamborghini to a hellcat is retarded, just like dodge fanboys.

>numbers on paper are bigger than other numbers on paper

whats hard to understand?

Ford makes decent half tons, sure. But their current gen powerstroke diesel engines are pure dog shit.

Ecoboost is mediocre, but not terrible.

the 5 liter V8 is good.
