No. If you even played LTC/Blitz, you'd know how vital he is for that.

His bad averages mean jack in those, because Promotion gains carry him most of the way.

No wells, no items spent on him, and he's still great simply because being mounted does that much to help and because he gets Paladin promotion so early.

In LTC, he'll hit Gold Knight way before Mathilda.

He joins mounted with better stats outright than Forsyth. In an efficient run, he's actually worth getting a level and making a paladin, while getting 3 full levels on Forsyth is not worth it(and loses you way too many turns) because Knights are too immobile to save you the turns.
