Campaign-posting and screenshot-sharing encouraged

Old thread

Playing Warhammer is kind of exhausting. There's dozens of enemy stacks coming from all sides constantly, all campaign long. I quickly eliminated some factions, and yet it still happens. Then there's the issue of corruption - every single province has cathedrals, agents specialized on it, I have the technology, yet they all never seem to decrease, constantly biting my public order. And I don't even make that much money.

Rock the boat!

I never have problems with any of those things

Want to switch so I can actually play TWW and not get bored shitless at how easy its campaign is?

have you never played a total war game before?

Warhammer is probably the one with the least annoying shit in it, though this does mean it's also the one with the least grand campaign shenanigans in it.

Is the HE roster video avaliable outside kikebook yet?

>one with the least grand campaign shenanigans in it.
None of the TW games have good campaign maps

And I really dont think slapping relics and ruins on the map is going to fix that like they are with W2. They need to go the GSG route and actually add some features to the campaign like logistics and some real strategy.

medieval 1 says hi
total warhammer is just poorly designed

>posting reveals on Facebook of all places?

Don't they know the core audience is lonely sperg fat fucking nerds with no friends to speak of?

Also get rollin those fresh campaigns you craven curs!

Maybe I'm just bad at it. I've played every total war game to exhaustion since and including Rome, and other than some particularly hard campaigns (usually in mods) I've never felt this pressured.

Granted, I'm making some progress in the campaign (I hold pretty much every imperial province except some I only haven't confederated because of the aforementioned public order issue) - it's just that it's a constant state of maneuvering around to dodge, reinforce and avoid the dozens of necksnapper hordes on one side, chaos stacks on the other, and the rebels everywhere because public order is killing me, plus having more armies is expensive as fuck

At least I murdered vampires and goats early

Now is the time to unite, yes?

Am I the only one whose unpatiently waiting for TW: arena?

Honestly, with Empire you can do so much with your starting province + marienburg that I just build public order buildings & weaving houses in every new province I conquer.

You also have to take the initiative sometimes and take out a faction before they start threatening you.

I mean come on dark elves

You make Chaos look reasonable

Is that a blanket made of face skins?

Also, is that a small dino or are those some huge faces?

>-4% weapon damage
>30 yard range
>target if: flying

But user that would require actual effort.

Anyway judging by the dumbing down of the campaign map it's better if you don't expect new mechanics, they'll continue to keep things simple and just add a little quirk to each faction because that's what the new fanbase wants.

Just conpare TWW campaign with ATTILA, It's not even that complex for grand strategy but it's miles ahead of TWW

TWW also suffers from very, very poor design that makes playing most campaigns the same and makes you face one enemy for your entire campaign.

Unless you're beastmen, where you start in the middle of crossroads, you don't have much freedom or variety of encounters, ridiculous treasure hunts are just the thing the new fanbase's attention span can accept.

but what about shadow warriors

TWWH is the best TW game because CA finally realised that their campaign map mechanics suck and they're better off focusing on the RTS aspect.

Corruption in provinces is % based. If you've got 3 purity and 1 corruption you'll go up to 25% corruption. I don't think that's how religion worked in the previous games so that might be confusing you.

...

FLC bundled with the Shadow King.
Although we never did get Wolfheart and huntsmen.

To the Kislevfag last thread: no way in hell it's happening, pic related is the absolute best they can pull off in terms of roster bear cavalry is a meme.

It's a better investment to make a Dogs of War faction so it can work both as Tilea and as mercenary units for other factions.

I like the cut of your jib user

>Lothern Guard, from the metropolis of Lothern
>Tiranoc Chariots, from the windswept plains of Tiranoc
>Dragon Knights of Caledor, from the prideful province of Caledor
>White Lions of Chrace, from the wooded foothills of Chrace
>Swordmasters of Hoeth, sworn swords of Saphery and the tower of Hoeth
>Ithilmar chariots, because they are made out of ithilmar

CA ruined the naming convention with their not-white-lion-chariot and its triggering my autism

Pretty much.
3rd edition had Druzhina as a unit but Realm of the Ice Queen just puts them as nobles basically.
The Empire could always get Kislevite units as an allied contingent though. You could put some of the Kislevite units (Gryphon Legion particularly) in the Empire RoR pool if you have an alliance with Kislev.
That same system could be expanded too. The Empire should be able to get Bugman's Rangers for instance.

>bear cavalry is a meme

Why do you hate fun? The success of TWW means that even if there isn't a lot of stuff in the lore for certain factions, CA should be able to cook up OC within reason

doubt you even played it

Warning: Bordergore

75 turns into my IA Antony campaign, and now the main areas of conflict are Dacia and Arabia - Antony himself has led the conquest of the pannonian plain and the Dacian highlands, while in the south Legio VI Libyca is in position to sail across the red sea and land in the Sabaen territories in the Arabian peninsula. While right now only the Saba are fighting us, and the Mascat have already been subjugated, it is likely that the Qidri, Gerrhae, and Ma'in will soon be at war with us as well, so reinforcements are on their way south from Armenia.

In the west Lepidus is fucked, as his final city is under siege from the Gaetuli, and a Latin stack is growing larger every turn should the tribesmen fail to take the city. As for Octavian, the biggest threat to his lands (besides me of course) are the germanic tribes to the north - the Marcomanni have a pretty sizeable part of Germania, and seem to be allied with the other german tribes as well.

Not the guy you're replying to, but that's going to be rather embarrassing for Boris Ursa when it turns out he's not the chosen one of Ursun and anyone can ride a bear.

Personally I hate the bear cavalry meme because it's so unimaginative.

Has Gaul rebelled against Octavian? I don't recall them owning that much land.

Yeah, it's basically hurr ryssa vodka, bear, balalaika.

nope, they are still a client state

>Kamalayan Mountain
>Jade and Chang river
behold the creativity of GW

Giving Empire another go, the AI is so bad.

forgot pic

It would be more interesting if they got something out of the other two main Kislev gods, the fire one and not-Thor.

Pretty sure that's not an official map.
That said, in the old background there was an order of Vim'to monks that came from Cathay.
I think later on they just called them the 'celestial dragon monks' instead.

Lepidus is the 2nd Roman to go, with his final city being taken over by rebels. In Sarmatia I've taken Antony's army to war against the last remaining nomads, and I have another army marching to the easternmost Alani ("Horde of the Steppe") town

Hello. I just got Warhammer and am gonna play Vampires cause the buildings look neat and the Isabella/Vlad combo looks interesting.

Have some questions though. Are the Scythe units good to build up to? Skeletons or Ghouls? And finally do you always want to train up the flying monsters? Or can you just go for all black knights for your mobile shock attacks?

Just looking at the research tree and all the options made me unsure of what the hell to do first outside of the economy tree.

Vamp inf and air are beef as fuck. You could focus tech on pop and dosh.

Ghoul or vamp lords are beast for their flying mount. Ghoul is better but takes 3 more lvls to get terrorg.

Scythe cav are beast and will win almost every one on one with their terror benefit. They can't survive long engagements though.

Vamp build depend on what faction you are facing, but generally I like to use grave guard as the core of my late game armies - Cairn Wraiths/Hexwraiths are ethereal, and resist most physical damage, but my big problem with them is that they don't really have great combat stats, and there aren't too many factions that they are really good against (you would think they would be good vs dwarfs but the aren't since they have magical attacks and the dwarfs resist that).

As for skeletons vs ghouls I generally go with skeletons early on since they can be raised via raise dead anywhere, although ghouls do well vs unarmored targets and deal poison, so they could have a use.

Fliers are especially good with Isabella, she has a bunch of abilities to buff bats/vargheists/terrorgheists, so a heavy flying contingent is a good idea for her army.

The best vampire cav is by far blood knights - hexwraiths have their uses but the blood knights have great stats and bonus vs large which allows them to win cav engagements handily. Once you unlock them don't bother with either black knight variant.

what are the chances that we will see all the outer and inner kingdom in Ulthuan? they all are quite unique and have great DLC potential

Well there will surely be "inner" and "outer" factions since the new siege type seems to be exclusive to the gates of Ulthuan

What are greatswords good at? Every battle I bring two of them, they take a lot of damage and don't even get that many kills. I dont get it.

You have been granted access to the halls of Athel Loren

killing armored shit

iirc their melee stats aren't exceptional and the ai loves to focus fire un-shielded troops so they are not good as a front line troop

>r2
>agent spam locks army in same position for an entire year (4tpy)
>because they were in forced march stance they can't even switch out of it
>already know that ai is marching an army from the opposite side of its territory
>will be able to somehow ambush my army despite the fact they have basically been encamped in the same location for a fucking year

To go along with my Von Carstein Campaign I'm reading the novel "Inheritance" about Vlad's rise to power. He and Isabella are an interesting couple. Isabella has been his wife for about 3 minutes and he gives her a wedding gift

>‘When my father dies he,’ Isabella levelled a finger at the cringing Leopold, ‘inherits his estate, the castle, the title, everything that by rights should be mine. All my life I’ve lived in the shadow of the van Drak men. I’ve had no life. I’ve played the dutiful daughter. I’ve been possessed – and now, my father is dying and I hunger for freedom. I hunger for it so desperately I can almost taste it, and in you, perhaps finally, I can realise it. So give me what I want, and I will give myself to you, body and soul.’
>‘And what would that be?’
>She turned to look at her father in his death bed, and saw the malicious delight in his face. She smiled: ‘Everything. But first, a token… A morning gift, I believe they call it. From the groom to the bride as proof of his love.’
>‘This is ridiculous!’ Leopold shouted, his voice cracking with the strain of it.
>‘Anything,’ Vlad said, ignoring him. ‘If it is in my power to give, you shall have it.’
>She smiled then, and it was as though she sloughed off the years of subjugation with that simple expression of pleasure. She drew him to her and whispered something in his ear as he kissed her delicately on the cheek.
>‘As you wish,’ Vlad said.
>He turned to face an apoplectic Leopold.
>‘I am a fair man, Leopold van Drak. I would not see you suffer unduly so I have a proposition for you. I will give you time to ponder it. Five minutes ought to suffice. Think about it, while the priest gets ready for the ceremony, and my wife to be makes sure her father is comfortable, and then, and only then, after five full minutes have passed, if you can look me in the eye and tell me that you truly wish me to stand aside, well then, I will have to accede to your will.’
1/2

They should have Bears as their artillery crews at least.

>‘Are you serious?’ Leopold asked somewhat incredulously.
>‘Always. What is a man if there is no honour to be found in his word? You have my word. Now, do you accept?’
>Leopold met Vlad’s coldly glowing eyes. The startling intensity of the hatred he saw blazing there had him involuntarily backing up a step.
>‘I do,’ he said, knowing it was a trap even as he allowed himself to be shepherded into it.
>‘Good,’ Vlad von Carstein said flatly. In four quick strides he was across the room. With one hand he picked Leopold up by the scruff of the neck, the other he rammed into the man’s chest, splintering the bone as his fingers closed around the already dead man’s heart. In a moment of shocking savagery he wrenched it free and hurled the corpse through the window.
>The dead man’s heart in his hand, Vlad leaned out through the window. Lightning crashed in the distance. In the lightning’s afterglow he saw the outline of >Leopold’s body spread out on a flat rooftop three storeys below, arms and legs akimbo in a whorish sprawl.
>Isabella joined him at the broken window, linking her fingers with his. But for the blood the gesture might have been mistaken for an intimate one. Instead it hinted at the darkness inside her: by taking his hand she was claiming him and the life he offered every bit as much as he was claiming her and the power her heritage represented.
>The power.
>‘Your gift,’ he said, offering the heart to her.
>‘Throw it away, now that it has stopped beating I have no use for it,’ she said, drawing him away from the window.
>Somewhere in the night a wolf howled. It was a haunting lament made more so by the wind and the rain.
>‘It sounds so… lonely.’
>‘It is missing its mate. Wolves are one of the few creatures that mate for life. It will know no other love. It is the creature’s curse to be alone.’
>Isabella shivered, drawing Vlad closer to her. ‘Let’s have no more talk of loneliness.’

Fun fact: that event is known to Imperial scholars as 'The First Defenestration of Drakenhof'
There were either thirteen of fifteen defenestrations, depending on who's doing the counting.

>Isabella is from Sylvania
>Vlad is from Nekehara

KANG'D

It may be like brettonia in that we get 2 kingdoms in 1 province. I cant really imagine 10 whole provinces for ulthuan.

>I cant really imagine 10 whole provinces for ulthuan.

I could definitely see it

finally found Octavian, and look at his fucking army

>only 2x legionaries
>6x fucking vigiles
>barbar mercs
>fucking merc socii spears
>3x polybian skirmishers
>3 leves

How about 6 whole provinces and 4 half provinces?

forgot pic

also r8 my legion congnomens

they dont have that many cities anyway, i can see them having 10 one-region provinces

>2 /twg/s up at the same time

so was lore of metal nerfed?

What's some good starter metal for someone looking to get into the genre?

how the PISS do I deal with 60 nigger chariots as dwarves

The only thing that seems to reliably kill them so they don't turn your lines into fucking swiss cheese is ranged, but there's so fucking many of them that I might be able to stop one from penetrating, just to have the next one come through the fucking broken lines and they're in the center of all my ranged. If I double space my melee I don't have enough to protect my flanks. If I put my ranged to far away from my line it just means they'll circle around to my ranged.

is the secret to just my make my entire fucking army melee because everyone's going to be stuck in melee anyways. Fucking god damnit shit FUCK

Its time

BEYOND

...

Should anyone have given a fuck about my testing with Final Transmutation, see below from the other /twg/ thread

Longbeards and anything else that's charge defense against large, several (4+) layers of 3-4 ranks is all i can recommend

>Just conpare TWW campaign with ATTILA
you could also compare ATTILA with Med 2 and see similar things. they've always been dumbing down the series

I figured bears would be mounts for lords, maybe even heroes.. and the way ca has done feral units, the warmaster bear herds even seem like they could be in.

The Sons of Ursa have been a war bear mounted organization since first edition WFRP. They are not a common thing, though.

We should give our energy to CA in attempt to meme this into reality.

>ridiculous treasure hunts
wait what's wrong with the treasure hunts? doesn't that fit with the theme of exploration?

also how about the fortress gates? don't those add strategy to the campaign map?

True Understanders - I propose a formal motion

Unless the false /twg/ imediately ceases their bumping, deletes their thread, and returns to the real /twg/ for trial, this sacred assembly will declare them a public enemy of the posters of the one true /twg/! After which time it will be the duty and the obligation of every True Understander to shitpost in their thread, or to derail it if they are able!

>Copy-pasting the embedded names of the videos instead of the actual URLs of the videos

Great job you fucking retard.

Do everyone a favor and never make an OP again.

Moderator! Delete the thread!

We should petition CA to port Shogun 2's units into TWWH as part of the new rogue armies feature, serving whoever has the coin. It's lore-friendly.

after almost 3 months of besieging a german city with an entire army of Octavians within, the Legio III Scythica is met on the field of battle as the defenders sally out to avoid starvation. Knowing that the enemy possessed artillery and was outclassed in cavalry power by the scythian auxiliaries, the commander of the III makes a strategic push with the horse archers, drawing the opposing army away from their artillery, allowing a single group of auxiliary cavalry to kill its crew. In addition the roman cavalry sent to intercept the scythian auxiliaries are also killed in entirety

Unlike Antony's soldiers, Octavian's men have no experience fighting nomadic soldiers - the roman cavalry continues hopelessly to try and catch the much faster scythians, but they are too slow

better than nothing especially if on a flying mount.

A motion is proposed - those in favor, give it (you)s

fell bats have cute tummys

BEYOND MY COMPREHENSION

...

Skipping from 8 to 13 really activates my autism

holy shit playing as norscans is great
I'm helping Archaon bring about the end times to the asinine mortals with stacks of chariots

I would much, MUCH rather have Lokhir Fellheart and that uber assassin guy than Hellebron.

Things I want back in Total War:

1. Proper mercenaries (yes it can be done for TWWH)
2. Small town battles
3. Naval battles (becauze who doesnt want to see orky boats or dwarf ships of the line)
4. Real stats for your generals like in medieval 2. Brettonians scratch the surface but it needs to be more detailed. My emperor in one Byzantine campaign had a 20 person retinue, and tons of traits like scarred, intelligent, sanguinary, bloodthirsty. It makes the characters feel more real. It gives them personality. Bring it back.
5. Lore wise behavior for AI. Might be too much though.
