Those are two completely different engines by the way. Audi switched from I5 to V6 in the mid 90s.

...

BMW i6 with a big turbo and an Audi i5. Look at the gatebil builds and you'll get a rough picture.

>Rover V8
Enjoy your cracked block at more than 350hp. Also it's an American engines that was licensed out.

Licensed out and thoroughly continued to develop. It's not like they built a Buick engine for another 40 years. They actually did such a good job at it that GM wanted to buy it back but Rover told them to go fuck themselves.

Still not the best example for a tuner engine though, it's not particularly forgiving to high horsepower.

And all those devlopments managed to make it worse.

And GM of all people wanting to use it isn't a sign of quality.

Guy at the local track has a built up 20psi turbo VR6 in a 90s Jetta. He beat a Ferrari on the 1/8 track by 1.1 seconds. Never talked to him but ive heard he works at his dad's machine shop and built most of his engine from scratch from the heads to the turbo kit.

Oh yeah, made it worse, I guess that's why it was put to use in TVRs and rally vehicles.

I dunno...
>Alfa Romeo 2.4 JTD ( pic related )
>Mercedes OM606 3 litre 6cyl diesel which is world reknown
>VW EA827 R4 TDI 1.9 & 2.0TDI which started all the diesel craze in Europe
>VW AKF 3.3TDI V8 which is one of the most spectacular and god tier engines.

There's too many of them to write here.

>>Alfa Romeo 2.4 JTD ( pic related )
You posted a Busso V6 though...

BMW inline 6 for cheap 600hp
BMW V8 for more hp
these engines are getting swapped in literally everything, pic related

Easy: the S54B32

A little 1.1l diesel

I have never VW or Alfa romeo powered high hp race cars in europe.
Pic related is a BMW M50B25 engine that can be had for less than 200 euros and it holds 500-600 hp on stock internals reliably.

I fap to many things at once and I get easily confused.

How would the Vortec 4200 engine compare to other straight sixes? its obviously no 2J but i wish the US had more straight six engines.

Which is an American design.

450bhp out of 2.5l at 11,800rpm. Naturally aspirated of course.

HNNNNGGGGH

Lots of those are complete garbage, you basically just made a list of old American engines.

Which ones are garbage and why?

i'm pretty sure engine swaps to non OEM spec are banned in most of europe.

Pretty sure we're talking about power here which already disqualifies all those that are heavy, weak turds.

I'm pretty sure you're talking out of your ass, Pooptugal notwithstanding.

You can literally modify literally everything to anything, as long as it gets homologated and passes the MOT.

There was some guy who once threw the engine out of an old Civic, mounted 12 Scania batteries and made it electric. The Civic got homologated and passed the MOT and he was free to roam the streets in his brand not-so-new home-made electric Civic. This was like back in 2010.

Oi mate that's the rub

Tfw mexicunt and will get to rebuild a 3.5 rover in a rangie classic. Love em

...

Exactly!!! Bowler wildcat, Range Rover, and tvr really pushed that buick beyond it's limits. Compare a rover v8 from like a tv8s to that olds/buick 215 you'll see that it evolved to be much more than it's original design.

Make a separate thread esé, the topic seems interesting enough

OP only asked for god tier and just says " good engine", and there are plenty of other parameters that make an engine good or god tier besides power.

and France used to mandate motorcycles have no more than 100 hp.

On the subject of the Lima, how do they take boost, the ones that are NA from the factory that is?

keep it street legal m8
might aswell bring up the 1500hp bmw 1.5 litre 4 banger f1 engine

Will do. although am usually a lurker and rarely if ever make entire threads for things.

S54

whatever this thing is

Poverty

>>Alfa Romeo 2.4 JTD ( pic related )

It's more like a fiat engine (basically a 1.9 JTD with an extra pot)

>What do Euros have?
TOO MANY

1.8T is a best engine cuz it needs very light maintenance and is bulletproof.

Except for the part where it sludges the fuck up if you go 10 miles over the recommended oil change interval.

400hp with relatively little effort is pretty good though.

jesus christ I get heart palpitations just thinking about working on this engine

made me kek

Who the fuck goes over recommended oil change interval?
