This is what I hear in my head whenever I used to play as MM in DbD since I would try to play as long as I could in EW1 to be sneaky.

Unlike F13, the killers are faster than the survivors but are less perceptive. Survivors see in third person and are expected to rely on stealth to survive.

In practice, it doesn't work out that way,

One of my last couple games, everyone made it out through the police checkpoint except one chucklefuck who spent the entire time going the wrong way, then camping in a lone cabin. I walked all the way from the checkpoint to the cabin to help, but the dumb fuck just gave up about halfway there and Jason found and killed them. Then he found me before I could escape.
I deserve it. Should have played him like a Chad

No, because they'll die pretty quickly unless they luck into a good area and inventory.

What's the point of composure? It seems like, even as Jenny, once you encounter Jason once your character is permanently scared. I can encounter him at the start of the match, escape, and even five minutes later I'm having trouble managing my fear. If it goes down it comes back hugely just from jogging in the woods with a flashlight for 30 seconds. There must be some sort of fear cap that makes it so that you can never become truly unafraid once you become afraid.
