i have no idea what i'm doing, even though i practiced. the other player always seems to know where to block, when to block, what i'm about to do, none of my attacks get through, it's just depressing

i give up fighting games, my brain is not suited for this kind of playing

Dan ranks are not that much higher than kyus, the level of play is still about the same. You probably didnt face off against some master of the game or anything.

Who cares, you need thousands of matches before you get enough experience in every matchup.
Don't get discouraged if you lose a few matches.

Check out frame data. Unfortunately it's on an external resource because this game hates beginners but double check that you're not just tossing out unsafe shit as pokes. Unless you're attempting to make a hard read for a counterhit you should limit your poking options to moves with

You should take your own advice and look at any of those links and look at anything with Eliza in it. She's either not there or has nothing listed for her. Pretty sure Eddy and maybe one or two other characters are still missing stuff for them too.

You fought someone earnestly climbing up. Everyone else is in here because they suck and too stubborn to learn or they're being pinned by masters trying to get back their rank.

But one question, is speed there referring to start up frames? Says kazuyas u/f4444 is 25 speed, I can't find startup frames so I'm assuming that's what speed is

What do the little sparkles on kicks sometimes mean?

I rather just use Combot in Tekken discord channels.

Probably either a power crush (armored move) or unblockable, depending on what sparkles you're talking about.

Too bad harada is too much of a hack to include any info on that ingame.

Those combos are either ancient or just sub optimal, use d4, 1+2 as a screw instead of b24 if you want more damage.

It's like a little trail of tiny sparkles is best I can describe it and it's not an armoured move or unblockable

How do I hit people in this game?
I'm a Juggernaut offline and I know at least three quarters of kazuyas combos, and can successfully execute them in practice or against bots. But I can't get above 3rd dan online against real people, when I play its as if they can read my fucking mind and just block every single move, then they retaliate and perfect me I just don't get it

Yoshifag here again, how about dem King leg crushers? Seriously, let's just get all the people who can spam some sort of leg hit. King, Asuka, Chloe, etc.

What do for those? Read the hits? Because king can switch it up and throw the middle hit earlier than the four leg hits.

Asuka is by far the easiest one I could read but I'll only block 4/6 hits from the string and pray I block the one that sends you flying.

Chloe is kinda timing. Don't have it down yet but looks possible.

Anyone else I'm forgetting? Any tips regarding this?

Tiers are bullshit, every tier table I see is different. Many top players actually say if you're new to Tekken then just pick the character you like using and get good with them.

I use Hwoarang, have done since Tekken 3 and when I see tier tables he's B, then he's A, then he's SS, then some people put him in fucking C (presumably because they just had their faces kicked off by him)

Lucky Chloe has won a tournament yet there she is in C on that table. The only one I'd say you should DEFINITELY avoid is Gigas since I don't know of anybody doing well with him.

The white sparkles are homing or screw moves, blues sparkles are unscaled attacks and when they're on rage drives they give you a second screw in your combo.

You're not false flagging now are you? Takes me about 20 seconds in warm up to find a game. Longest I had to wait was a minute but I think that's because i declined a dude with 1 bar connection.

Tiers come from Korean players who play like a million matches a day. They are just tendencies, not indicators for random matches online.

So what's the deal with highs? They don't hit crouching opponets but mid do. Why would you use a high over a mid unless the high has very good properties?

Kay: Every Move in Tekken has a number of frames. Usually a jab (1 [square] or 2 [Triangle]) is the fastest with 10 frames. If a move gets blocked two things can happen:
1: You get plus frames. A jab might give you +1 frame, which means that if you start with a jab and it gets blocked the next move your opponent does is 1 frame slower. So if he presses 1 after you press 1 you will hit him with your next jab, because effectively his jab takes 11 frames and yours 10.

2: You get minus frames. If you spam something like df2 (typical launcher) you get at about 10-15 minus frames depending on the character. This means that if you do df2 and it gets blocked, your opponent can hit with any move that is 10 frames (or even more if you get more minus frames).

Try to find out which moves your opponent uses often. Then try punishing them with one of your moves.

Poking just mean abusinh moves that give you frames and mixing high, mid and low attacks to keep your pressure.

People get mad over the HONEST and HIGH IQ memes but really they should be mad at the TIER meme.

Nobody should be choosing a character based on tier tables, nor should they be dropping a character because of them either. Seen a few people in the past few threads worrying if they should keep maining someone because they they saw a table that showed they were "low tier"

the netcode has been fine for me, it's just finding a match.

the netcode wasn't the issue with the ps4 version. people just couldn't join games for some reason

Highs are usually faster than mids.
As I explained here
You can get frames with some moves.
If you spam 1 your opponent is usually forced to duck.
So if you mix a high with a mid he will get hit if he tries to duck.
So 1 (high) df1 (mid) 1 df1 and suddenly df1 could work as a mind game, if your opponent even knows whats happening.

This game is so frustrating. It's like the Tekken team knows how to make a fucking excellent game but all the features are FUCKED. No DM style revenge matches, no replays, no frame data in training and dummy doesn't get up right.
It's fucking infuriating.

How exactly would I be using Fearless Warrior (F3+4) for Kazumi in fights? I like to use Last Warrior to put space between me and my opponent, but I can't seem to find a good place to get Fearless Warrior attacks in.

They removed some features for some reason and I'm still having problem connecting matches for some fucking reason.

I don't get it, TTT2 online worked quite well in my experience...

You block something that opponent does, and punish and opponent was + on block and fucks you up. Alternatively your punish whiffs and you get fucked up because of that.

You move away or sidestep so opponent will whiff and when you go to whiff punish you get hit by the followup.
