Because the game is so dishonest you lose rounds in 5 seconds.

The average combo does like 40% and leads directly into a mix up situation. 5 rounds reduces the random factor.

What makes sfV matches fun to watch?
Caught myself on that thought and don't know why watch it now really. For average viewer like me everything seems the same every time. No one is pulling off any crazy shit. All the games are boring. Is that just me? Maybe I'm missing something.

Actually I think Tekken 7 runs on a modified version of the SFV engine, a lot of the configuration files are named similarly and I got a similar controller bug while switching windows at startup.
Akuma might not be the only thing they "borrowed" from Capcom.

Greetings, Street Fighter fan possibly getting back into the series after years of not playing it. How are/were Street Fighter IV and V?
I hear IV is generally decent (but don't know for sure, hence my asking here) and V is terrible. Is V salvageable or no?

On launch, SF4 was worse than launch SFV but it got a free pass because it was a new game after over a decade.
It got improved with every version of the game, it wasn't the perfect game, a lot of people didn't like it, a lot of people liked it. It was the most competitive fighting game well over 8 years after launch.
SFV got really bad reviews for having an early release, it came without much of the features that should've been there, but the gameplay was very good.
It has improved a lot, it's now a good game, you won't have trouble finding people to play online or locally if you have a scene, a lot of people still play SF4 online.

SFV is not really good if you want more from fighting games.
It's okay if you are starting the genre and you want a really accessible fighting game that lacks of content. If you are a bit more navigated in the genre then the game is simply not for you.

The design choices the new team makes with SFV are baffling to say the least.
You take Chun's Hoyoku-sen from 3S, which used to launch the opponent on air, and you change a build of SFV where she was able to do so in order that she's not capable of doing it anymore.
From a conceptual level, the changes the new team is doing with some moves is really weird and not really coherent.

Wavedashing is a technique mostly exclusive to Mishima characters + some exceptions like Armor King and Bob that allow you to perform a special kind of dash.
It can be used as a movement tool since it low profiles many attacks and also it's the base tool where stuff like EWGF come from.
It's usually done by f, n, d,d+f, f.
