Will boxy cars/Slab styling ever make a comeback

Is there any hope?

One can dream.

inefficient and ugly

nope

>inefficient
>ugly

> secretly love Volvo 240's
Unfortunately, ever increasing fuel mileage standards pretty much guarantee that boxy cars will never make a comeback.

Volvo 240 0.47
Range Rover Classic 0.45

and yeah most people think theyre ugly
I just think theyre boring

Pediatrian safety in mind during design leads to lore rounded edges

round is just more aerodynamic

flat edges are shiiiiiiit

>Nissan won't just let it happen
>4 years of cucking and we may actually get it
>It might be an electric car
Pls, kill me now. I just want a production IDx with a peppy 4 banger in it.

what about lada

They might when most cars are electric.

this is my hope for auto design, once aerodynamics arent super important for muh fuel economy, car design will take on older stylings.

I'm hoping for this as well. Perhaps EVs could be a blessing in disguise.

It never intended to produce the IDX in the first place. The IDX was nothing more than a desperate plea for attention in the face of the Toyobaru twins.
It is literally nothing more than a pathetic "me too!" cry.

delorean will save mankind

with what the same old bull shit but wiht a new engine in alow producton formant

cyz John Deloran is dead

No because pedestrians need a nice comfy bonnet to sit on.
same reason we don't get pop up headlights anymore.

Brass-era cars = squares
30s to 60s = rounded
70s to 80s = squares
90s onwards = rounded

Seems to come in waves.

This, pedestrian safety is the stupidest damn thing

>will boxy car design ever come back
Please
>will saab ever come back
Fuck I hope not, I hate saab

Wait lol I'm dumb, I thought it said "saab" and not "slab"

>Muh range

Until they can get electric vehicles with decent batteries aerodynamics will be a huge deal just to squeeze a couple more miles from the battery

>boxy
>ugly

I should get my old 240 up and running again

>0.32
hurr

yes
