The difference here though is that most of the territory that Germany tried to take back was forcefully removed from it at the conclusion of WWI.

IN the case of Belka, it let those new countries go peacefully, as the ethnic people's of those regions didn't really see them selves as Belkans. Not in the same manner as the North Belkans anyway.

This actually becomes a plot point in Zero. The Southern Belkans show disdain for the North Belkans and feel that their cities and livelihoods are being sacrificed just to defend the North.

It's sad that this is probably what they'll do. It'd be way too radical to have the American stand in be the real antagonist ((the true villain is, of course, Nord Belka)).

Osea's smack dab in the middle of Strangereal; so it's not like they had an entire continent to themselves to grow into. All the states/ counties of the Osean Federation were likely sovereign nations at one point or another. Or more than likely, North, South, and East Osea are entirely different culture bodies with their own regional sub-cultures, barring some Strangereal Roman Empire type shit (There were the ruins in Gladisant, but that's still pretty fucking far from North and South Osea).

I was gonna say that only one of those looked like a Fokker because I only knew about the Eindecker, D VIII and Dreidecker for their rotary planes. But I opened The complete Book of Fighters I got ages ago and they apparently made at least two or three biplanes with rotaries as well. Still none that look like those though.
