Any Company is asking for ideas for the next car they should build

Ford-build a large engine manual sedan with rwd similar to the chevy ss

There is no reason for barges to be manual.

Try driving a manual barge sometime and you'll see why many people on here want one.

What are the benefits of driving stick in a shit-barge beyond "Fuck you, I like it."?

After the """eco""" GT, a car who's market category (exotic) would've ensured consumer interest in whatever wild builds Ford wanted (say, a twin turbo V8) meaning no "we can't make that because no one would buy it" excuse that they would have with something like a 4-door RWD sedan i don't think we'll ever see large engine anything from ford beyond the Mustang.

>we live in a world where powerful RWD manual saloons are unprofitable cars
:'(

Skoda started the trend some years ago, and it was followed by some manufacturers, but not too many.
Basically, when the new model was released, the previous gen would continue to be built, in "Tour" version.
The Skoda Octavia Tour was a previous gen Octavia which was built alongside the newer version. It was much cheaper, and it was abit spartan on the options side. But for people who wanted tried and tested, proven technology, for people who wanted to buy a car from the past, just brand new, the Octavia Tour offered an interesting niche.
And a lot of people liked the ideea of buying older cars brand new.

Maybe some of the manufacturers can bring back some of the old cars, align them to more modern emission standards, and sell them brand new, at a cheaper cost?
Many people say that the Mk. 4 Golf was much better than the Mk. 5 or Mk 6. Many people would buy the old fashioned 1.9 TDI in a heartbeat, especially with 0 km.
Renault is somewhat doing this with Dacia, recycling the older technology and mounting it on the Dacia, but I'm talking the full potatoes.
Something like Renault bringing back the Clio 182, only with 0km on the clock, a lower price tag and bare minimum upgrades in order to comply to the standards of today?

I'd sure af buy a brand new Clio 182 with 0km on the clock.

What is the benefit of automatic in a barge besides fuck you I like it?
The GT used the 3.5TT because of class rules. Race car first, halo car second.

why can't any of the domestic manufacturers make a light rwd manual shitbox. if the gt86 was produced by ford, dodge, or gm it'd be less than 20k$ new.

It's not one of the main manufacturers, but it exists.

thats a subaru with a body kit.

I want Cadillac to make a four door convertible, with a trunk that could hold several dead bodies and a hood that could be used to land planes.

It uses a Subie engine and trans, the chassis is 'merican. Rear suspension geometry is tweaked a bit, front is now double wishbone. And it's MR.

kit cars are still pretty far into left field when it comes to domestic car options. there is no reason the big 3 can't do some parts bin engineering (i'm looking at you here Ford) and build a poorfag sports coupe.

>chevy large engine manual sedan with rwd doesn't sell in the US and gets discontinued
>"Hey Ford, you should do the same thing!"

Companies exist to make money, bud.

See above. They don't sell.

unless its priced like a shtibox or a convertible most people dont want an unpractical, unconformable and slow car that cost $25k.

thats my point. Jap shit is always overpriced compared to domestic. a sub 20k domestic sports coupe is entirely doable.

If anyone can do it properly, it's GM. Sorry fordfags.
Use the front suspension of the Alpha chassis Camaro. Use the basic floorpan, in 2 seater form, from the Chevy Sonic or Chevy Cruze to keep costs down. Use the front suspension of the Epsilon chassis Impala in the back for an MR sports car.
Engine options would be the 1.4L Turbo (150 HP), 2.5L Ecotec (200 HP), 2.0L Turbo (270 HP), and a 3.6L V6 (335 HP). All drivetrains would be transverse FWD setups, but place behind the driver for an MR setup.
It'd be a modern reimagining of the Fiero, and they can bring the Corvair name back from the dead. GM also doesn't care if anything is faster thana the corvette anymore.

i was thinking more along the lines of bringing back the Escort.

Wrong Escort. If Ford brought it back, it'd be something like this.

The entire point of luxury barges is so the driver can be as lazy and comfortable as possible. Pretty much defeats the purpose if they have to fiddle around with a shifter in town.
>b-but I like it so that means other people do
No.

i just wish manufacturers would be mindful of ease of maintenance when designing MR cars. they really should be as simple to work on as a FWD car.

It didn't sell because it was 80 thousand dollars

Hard to make a rear clip easy to remove or fold up and have the car still be safe.

they call it the mustang II 2 so the retarded mustang girls will buy it.

The Fiero was pretty easy to work on. The body panels unbolted from the chassis

>What is the benefit of automatic in a barge besides fuck you I like it?
The same reason there's an automatic transmission in almost every car.

It was around 50k loaded, dummy.

Do you actually believe that all major car companies have settled on small displacement (maybe giving you a turbo option), FWD, autotragic cars by coincidence? No, that's what

A) Sells
B) Keeps retarded drivers alive

Nobody buys manuals. Most idiots cannot be trusted with RWD and all seasons in cold temps. You are living in an enthusiast's bubble. You think gearhead engineers don't want to make more fun cars? They do. THEY DONT SELL, THEY ARENT SAFE, AND THEY GET TAXED TO SHIT. SO THEY CANT. It's not a matter of profit margins. Manual options on most cars would lose mose manufacturers money, even if the manual is available via factory order only. The numbers are that bad.

I wish everybody on Veeky Forums could understand what this post is trying to say. Too easily do people on here forget that we are a minority.
