is 2k a good price is this a good car what are the chances that lift was done correctly? what are the risks if it wasnt? any red flags that im missing?
>I rolled back the odometer/replaced dash with a 7000 mile dash >I am now charging a premium for this service At 7000 miles, it should look brand new, showroom condition. It looks like any other rx7. Any other pics? The fact he took such a shitty pic of the car in his front yard also concerns me, and that color is clearly not fucking purple
>Understanding that it's a 30 year old, stock, entry level sports car with high mileage >Asking 9000
He clearly picked one

>in need of a new daily >found a semi-rare car I've been wanting >nice, well written ad >car looks super clean, receipts for all the work that's been done >price right where I want it to be >text the guy the day after the ad has been posted >tell him I'm free all day and I'd like to come check it out ASAP >says he's working all day and has 2 other people coming to check it out when he gets off work

Don't get the 1.8 4 pot, it's a big fucking heavy car

Hello fellow Greenville bro

Im not from VA, I just search for the cleanest 240sx's across America and one just happened to be in that area. I live in New England.
Related I've been thinking about going to a shitty dealer because I'm so poor. They have a 2000 accord 5-speed with 315k miles and a Mazda 626 auto with 200k. Which of these is the better option? Has anyone ever heard of accords lasting this long?

> See a good deal on a car on craigslist. > Meet up with the dude for a test drive. > Tells me how great of a car it is and how he'd drive it across country if he needed to. So, how long have you had it? > About a week. > Gives me a story about how he needs it gone by tonight. (college tuition, trading it in if I don't buy it, etc.) Every fucking time. I bought my first car 15 years ago off craigslist, test drove several, and none of them seemed like scams. Now EVERYTHING seems like scams. Craigslist and Facebook both.

These weren't the only red flags, just a couple that were shared by nearly all of them. Others had stuff like an obscured VIN, shady texts after test drive, undisclosed fender benders in the carfax report, etc.) I haven't checked out a single car with an honest ad yet. And half don't even get further than a text because it's some weird scam about how they're listing it for someone else and they want me to contact some weird email address that's obviously a scam. Now I'm super paranoid looking at cars because I'm afraid they're all hiding something (which they probably are). Obviously I'd have it looked over by a mechanic if I ever got that far but still it's annoying wasting so much time.

One more thing. A huge chunk of the listings in the BY OWNER craigslist category are located on an infamous Mexican car lot strip that I'd rather avoid. Thanks for letting me vent. I know some other anons out there feel my pain.
If this was like $800-$1000, I'd get it since it's so clean, but its a old nissan so eh idk about $1300

>for sale by owner listing >pictures show a bunch of dilapidated cars in the backround which is totally a car lot how to get someone to close the tab and move on 101
I just want a manual READ preferably Japanese project car but CL seems dried up. Anywhere else I should be looking or am I stuck refreshing CL constantly looking for the gems before they get bought up?
Opinions on this Rx8? What does he mean by >needs camshaft positioning sensor and crank shaft sensor (car don't start after being ran, OBD2 picked up bad sensors)
Looks solid, I would try and work him down because its not the 1.8. Also personal preference, but those lock nuts are horrid. If its lowered, check and make sure there are all 16 lock nuts. Mine shot one out after I went over a speed bump

What do you think is a good offering price for it?
>literally says price negotiable >what is transmission swap? learn to read faggot

>200k on the engine >already had a new auto put in >pull that one, then have to source a manual, get rid of the auto >source all the parts >have to cut, modify and fabricate parts >car cost maybe like $3500 if lucky, $1000+ in new trans, materials and time to end up with a third gen f body
or
>buy a cheap 3rd gen with a manual and not do any of that hmmmmm
