reddit.com/r/truegaming/comments/2ruqba/advances_in_fps_netcode/cnl8c8l/?context=4 >So in my example above, at 3a, the server will create a rocket at the time the client fired (time N + half ping). Each update, true rockets projectile is evaluated from start pos + dir * accumtraveltime. >This is an important difference, if we didn't create the rocket at the right time, it wouldn't be created until the server receives the message (3a) at time N + halfping * 2. If you do it that way, all your rockets come out delayed, it becomes hard to hit people when you're at a higher ping. Maybe QC devs should read this reddit post.
Leo Green
remember when I said I wouldnt play quake because of horrible netcode? I lied and i'm back to complain again.
Netcode is not so great in this game, for sure. and maybe you need to get better at movement and stop playing the slow as ass robot on burial chamber, because then dodging rails isn't a huge problem. And, as usual, git gud, Nyxs invis isnt a problem when you can literally rocket jump in the air and confuse most Nyx nubs.
Michael Green
>rocket jump >take self damage >get fucked by nyx once she uncloaks
ok
Jonathan Scott
>get fucked by Nyx Doesn't sound too bad
Nolan Wood
Most of the time it works out to just rocket jump away off of a wall or off the floor in a different direction to run away, they cant really keep up with a sorlag or anarki. Not straight up, not what I meant.
>jetpack in a game with a buggy mouse look >no bonuses >limited map design due to no ROR >useless weapons It might be fun once in a while, but it isn't better.
Joseph Rivera
are you retarded user the mouselook is identical in blood and everyone with a brain uses bmouse.exe duke3d also supports sector over sector along with portals just like blood and takes advantage of it more often with far more vertical maps and none of the weapons are useless
Tyler Jackson
>are you retarded user the mouselook is identical in blood Learn to read. >duke3d also supports sector over sector along with portals just like blood Not exactly. If I wasn't sleepy I'd google some examples for you, but ROR wasn't in Duke in the same way it is in Blood or Shadow Warrior.
Nathan Ross
i know you haven't played dukematch shut up fag
Adrian Martin
I played a fair share of Dukematch even if the most of it was on N64 But I bet you haven't really played Bloodbath.

i stopped playing qc after sacrifice was introduced
can someone give me a quick rundown on everything since then?
Zachary Lee
Yeah Reflex devs have good net code. It's surprising games aren't figuring this out still. You'd think this knowledge would be widespread right now. But even QC fails at it.
Matthew Mitchell
Small changes to duel versions of maps. Small changes to acceleration of visor and clutch. Small changes to max health pools. Supposed improvement of net code issues. Supposed improved performance.
