What is the most american looking non american car?

what is the most american looking non american car?

70 astin Martin V8 Vantage

70's toyota celica

Crown Vic

they're canadian

Gaz M21 Volga.

Even came with a 327 Chevy smallblock.

a Valiant

...

A Monaro

Nothing in this thread comes close

This

XC Coupe

Opel Diplomat

Fuck yes

this

...

nissan c110 skyline, the wannabe american

1957 Prince Skyline. Literally just a scaled down 57 Chevy.

The 58 looks just like a Checker

And the 62 coupe looks like a less ugly 61 Chrysler 300.

Gaz 13 Chaika

hell no. this looks euro as fuck. Italian-ish IMO. Reminds me of Lancia Flavia or Fiat's coupe of that era

I see what your getting at with the Flavia but they don't have angled headlights like the 300.

Goddamnit, you're*

...

>posting rebadged Fords

mmmh

>post american looking non american cars
>posts a british roadster

I noticed, since they're only thing these two have in common. You're still wrong. Also this Skyline was actually designed and coachbult by Michelotti

Anything Japanese before the year 1975 since they literally (LITERALLY) copied American car designs. The Toyota Celica A20/30 was a direct copy of the Mustang, the first Skyline GT-R was a copy of the Challenger, etc. etc.

All immediately disqualified. The headlights must be round.

>the first Skyline GT-R was a copy of the Challenger

the Hakosuka came out before the Challenger so nah

thats literally a mustang.

wew

how about this

Yeah, that's much better. It simply doesn't fit America otherwise, they had sealed beams until '84 or so.

So how did Imperial do it?

omg it's adorable

those are round headlights

I dont know why he thinks there wasnt sealed beam lights that are square tho

This looks like a Jap trying to look American tho

Not wrong lmao

Because the headlights themselves are still round? All the ones quoted have square lights.

I don't quite agree with him since square sealed beams were legalized here in 1974, and flush replaceable bulb euro-style lamps in 1983.

t.

...

Yeah but on the Imperial there are cover glasses on top which would've normally been illegal. Also rectangular sealed beams first even appeared as a trend in the mid '70s, and didn't fully arrive until the mid '80s, at which point other units were legalized and cars started having individually shaped lights.

they were only illegal in California from what I found

they still removed them in 1966 because of that

>When the working class of your country has 10 year waiting line for a licensed Italian compact while the elite ride around in comfy knock off American land barges but its okay because the sight of your car will remind the proletarian to keep building communism or they might end up going on very long vacation in your comfy knock off American trunk

>mfw picrel was licensed soviet car which was actually a knock off of some ford/chevy

Fine, have a babby Camaro.

>e-types are American

>posts a slow ripoff of Ferd Escort RS instead

It's hard to believe this isn't a shop.

Looks more like a knockoff Capri to me.

They copied British designs if you ask me. The early Skyline GT-Rs and Celicas looks more like a Cortinas, Escorts and Capris than fucking muscle cars. Then there's things like the Civic and Miata which are pretty undeniable.

these.

On the off chance that this isn't samefagging, 10/10 top tier posts

Russia truly is a failed America

they literally just made a mustang
what did they mean by this

...

...

Don't forget the Cadillac Sedan DeVille. I mean Chevrolet Caprice. No wait I mean Holden Caprice. Damnit no wait, Holden DeVille

Or is it an Oldsmobile Cutlass?

No I think it's a 74 Cadillac that was sold new in 1979 or possibly a Chevrolet Caprice or Impala?

If you were to ship one of these to the United States convert it to left hand drive and remove the badging no one would have any idea what the hell it was. And unless they had travelled down under I think even some of the most seasoned car guys could guess it looks like something from the 1970s built by GM and that's about as close as they could get.

I love that era of American-derived Japanese. Not even just the muscle-looking cars like that Celica and Skyline. The Nissan Cedric for one was styled like an American sedan of the time, right down to the vinyl top. Looks great.

It looks like a Plymouth

Looks like a Ford Maverick with a falconesq body

Didn't they steal blue prints from some American car in order to make this?

...

they try to make a mustang but instead they make a based muscle car that's 100 times better than mustang. fpbp
/thread

what fucking popular american car that looks like this? corvette stingray doesnt even came close

Opala ss 4.1.
Its a brazilian 6cilinder Opel rekord.

>big
>fat
>boxy
>420 hp
>quick

why no one mention red pig yet

Valiant Charger

>what is the most american looking non american car?

>here user

wtf, no

I had to do a quick double take that that wasn't actually a late 80s Oldsmobile 88 wagon

Nigga what fucking British cars have you seen lol

Many people in europe believe the ford scorpio/granada is an american car but it was never offered stateside

>that grill
>american

Yes aï ameuh yourre américane cousin honhonhon

Puma GTB S1

The fact that there is a Chevy Suburban parked right in front of it gives even more believability to that it was offered in the US

That would appear to be an early 1970s Monte Carlo

>huehueland Commodore

>prince skyline
>prince nsu
Was Prince just making mini versions of chevies?

Say what you want, but the MK1 Ford Mondeo Sedan looked like a 90's American Ford.

Two diffrent brands user. The Prince that made Skyline was japanese and NSU that made model "Prinz" was a german company

It has a Cadillac Crest on the hood below a Chevrolet Caprice hood ornament.

>mfw

Sovs gonna take the price

...

It WAS a '90s American Ford. Except they rebadged the European one for America, not the other way around.

>i dont think suburbans were ever exported to any country ever

christ user. are you really this stupid?

You guys got the Ford variant too, as the Contour.

technically.

it was a Ford US and Ford Europe joint venture. They designed it together. They launched it together. They sold it together.

MEGA BOYS

Suburbans are exported around the world they are just associated with the US, It used to be, i don't know if it still is that a majority of them were shipped to Texas.

Nissan 280z

lol I still don't know how Toyota didn't get sued for this thing, it's clearly an H1

or pic related for that matter, it's just a tiny Mustang

Ford is American you fugging cog gobblers.

And don't give me some shit about it being made in Europe or Australia, those are non-countries.

They're built in Texas user

Chrysler is American what the fuck is wrong with you.

This looks like an Imperial. I will give you 1 point.

user please, my penis can only get so erect.

>Even the cars are slant eyed
