Most taxis here are Mercedes, some are BMW, Volvos, Volkswagens and Skodas and of course there are oddities like Teslas and Seats and Fords, but the most numerous brand is Merc.

According to MB, there are thousands, and thousands of W124 (and W201) working as taxis, so they easily top the 800.000 kms mark. Quite a few roll the odometer... twice.

I know a guy, who works as a mechanic in a Taxi company workshop, dismantled a 200D motor with near 2.000.000 kms and the crankshaft was in excelent shape! It didnt need to be machined.

BTW, theres is a Portuguese W124 in Mercedes-Benz' Museum with 1.900.000kms (1.6 million miles)... all those kms were made with the same engine, never opened, and with ALL the service registered at the local MB dealer here in Portugal.

That looks like a facelifted w124, the w140 have more sloped fronts and they didn't come with such bumpers, also look at the line that goes on the side. There is no sharp line on a w140.
