if a hybrid is 80% of the pure class while doing 50% of a healer it would be broken as fuck you mong. If they sacrifice 20% of their dps time to heal 50% of a dedicated healing position you'd never want to bring pure classes at all.

read my post again. hybrids healing costs time that could be put to dpsing. So if your 80% of a dps while providing 30% of a dedicated healers output you could skip healing and do 110% dps.

My suggestion was either to have DPS choose whether to DPS or heal. While DPSing, their maximum damage is 80% of the average pure DPS. While healing, their maximum healing is 30% of the average "pure" healer.

Alternatively it could be a hybrid that heals and DPSes at the same time with 80% DPS and 30% HPS at the same time, but that'd be absurd desu.

A disc priest type setup is the onlything that works for your hybrid class otherwise hybrid classes only role is to provide dmg increasing buffs for pure classes like curse of elements or moonkins crit chance. Hybrids are not good numerically only buffwise.

Every class is a number. If your taking a ele sham or moonkin for their clutch big raid heal your still only taking 1 of each as you would for there debuffs in expansions past. but even then, its very unlikely your core healers will be unable to manage with proper play vs having to bring subpar dps to cover them.

Thats exactly what the situation is. Bring AoE classes for AoE fights and ST for ST fights. Classes that "work well together" aren't a thing anymore its all which class has the best numbers.

your suggestions that hybrids become dps/healer split is retarded. Hybrids where always balanced around providing buffs to pure dps classes. if they did 80% the dps of pure classes and 30% of the heals, you could just stack hybrid classes and it would be broken.

Average raid has 2 tanks/4 heals/ 14 dps.For simplicity sake lets have those pure dps doing 100dps equaling 1400 raids dps and the 4 healers doing 100 hps totaling 400 hps. If you stacked your 80/30 hybrids for all 18 spots at the same value you'd have 1440 raid dps and 540 hps making pure dps classes obsolete.
