Reminder that ayys will come for your waifus

Better kill them to make sure nothing bad happens.

I'm into that

Which one?

It would be shorter to list who not to kill. Just get rid of everything but xcom and maybe some few rebel havens.

you don't fuck with the mouse unless you're willing to cheese it
GW doesn't want to enter this pissing match cause it doesn't give them any shekels

So any idea how the whole kidnappiung thing will work?
It'd be lame if it was just a popup after a mission that one of your soldiers you didnt take with you got ayy'd when you were away, aiming your grenade arcs

I think it'll happen during a mission

from what i understood
the chosen during a mission might decide to incapacitate one of your soldiers and flee the battlefield with them
you will have to launch a rescue operation to get them back

I think you can see in the trailer the big chosen warlock guy kidnapping one of your dudes. Looks like an ability that they use.

...

>Face the assassin
>Fires some crazy tracking/hook shot
>CROSS MAP FROM ELEVATION
>Kidnaps that soldier the following turn/action and leaves

keh, nuffin personal 'mander

Porn mods with the chosen when

They aren't scaly /furry enough for degenerates to care.

No flying armor I am disappointment.

Well, I just realised one fandom that might actually care, but I'm not going to even invoke their name lest we attract their tumblrina sort.

Mods will fix it

Jakey the snakey Solomon you failed me again. I heard they tried to do it but they can't control the height like EW, so it's shit right now. You need a building or surface under to control the height.

It just irritates me how shameless the clone is.

The Reinforcement Pack is on sale. Is it worth it? I'm going to get the new expansion when it's out and this might be the only time before it releases when old DLC will be on sale. I also read that the expansion will change things about the old DLC.

It makes sense in a way I guess. If EXALT actually existed in the XCOM 2 Timeline they would have spent all their time developing Psionics and Alien tech after XCOM fell.

It actually makes a lot of sense the more I think of it. EXALT captures Durand and the Furies instead of XCOM and they use that as a base to develop Psionic potential in humans and 20 years later you have the Templars.

Do you like XCOM 2?
Do you want extra content for it?

If the answers are yes and yes, then you should get it.

How much is it? It might be worth based on the price, the content except for Anarchy's Children isn't too bad

>EW Isn't canon
Really though? I always figured XCOM before EW came out to be what took place before XCOM 2. With EW being after the commander was captured as they used him to hunt down the new resistance AKA EXALT using Proto-ADVENT Troopers and Proto-MECS.

We don't actually know how long it was before EXALT actually appeared.

It's $8.50 on GMG

Cyclops expansion confirmed?

I was thinking of something more like 6$ but yeah I'd say 8.50 is worth it. Shen's Last Gift(and it's soundtrack) alone is worth 5$ imo, but the rest is kind of hit or miss

Thanks I heard that Alien hunters makes the game worse, but I'll have to try it to

Oh, there you are.

>LW2 is the expansion

Morning /xcg/. How's LW2?

Don't listen to weak-willed babies. The Rulers are definitely not perfect, but they still add to the game.

Calling it now, Geist is Annette

>EXALT captures Durand and the Furies instead of XCOM
Aren't the Furies death though?

EXALT were supposedly around for a long old time before the aliens even arrived. Canonically they should have been active even if XCOM never got around to fighting them.

Does endless war make the game harder?

They were in stasis, they didn't try to kill them until xcom lands

Alien Hunters is basically overpowered Freebie weapons at the expense of unlocking "Super Bosses" that can fuck up your missions but unlock even more broken overpowered shit when killed.

Honestly, the idea itself isn't that bad, but the execution is pretty meh, im pretty sure you can just ignore the AYY HUNTER mission line too and it won't trigger its shit even if it is involved.

Viper armor isn't that bad if you unlock head customization for it so you can ditch the helmet, the integrated scarf is actually pretty cool on a Ranger due how much they move.

long war 2*

The alien rulers work differently from everything else in the game, which has had certain people frothing at the mouth about "artificial difficulty", but whether they make the game better or worse is entirely subjective. And so, for that matter, is the quality of Anarchy's Children. Personally, I love that stuff.

Don't you find the pods in Xcom2 though?
Also there is no reason for the Ayys to let the furies go when they explicit picked them up for their psionic potential, they probably were the first to be turned into avatar juice

EXALT doesn't exist, it was just part of the simulation the Elders set up for the commander to fight the rebel groups.
Don't let that rookie who "was totally part of Exalt when he was 2 years old" trick you.

the only thing I like about anarchy's children is being able to make soldiers run around in swim trunks and sports bras

There is a random rumor about stasis pods being found. It can pop up multiple times and the game never actually mentions anyone found inside the pods. It can also come up several times.

But even if it only came up once the key part of it is "among the remnants of a heavily fortified facility". Remnants, something destroyed it.

I use most of the content in there for "tribals", soldiers picked up through PoI scans. I like to imagine they've been living as scavengers cut off from both ADVENT society and any organized resistance, so they've developed close-knit tribal mentalities and fashioned some rather odd sets of gear.

>tfw only use the sci-fi pieces from it, like the space mask

Individual pieces of it can be used to great effect, desu.

yes

EXALT exists in one form or another because they integrated alien genes into their soldiers. The name is irrelevant when there was a resistance force which was actively developing gene therapy.

Actually since we don't know when the Commander was crushing the resistance and Vahlen is MIA then it's entirely possible she was the one behind EXALT and their intense gene modification. Shen wasn't around to stop her.

wew dude EW was a simulation. EU is the base for X2, which means no eggsalt and no meld.

I really wish that Muton Mercenaries had been added as a faction... You know, the ones with Jetpacks and lots of tanking ability?

That would have made an interesting dynamic... They'd probably have weak willpower to compensate for a high HP pool and the ability to carry high damage weaponry... And to gain party loyalty means bringing them corpses of Aliens/looted alloys/elerium to show them your strength... The more alien corpses/elerium/alloys given to them, the more loyalty they have.

You have any solid proof of EW specifically being the simulation?

Source: user's ass.

That is if EW is canon where they existed though, if EU is canon they never existed. I always thought EU was canon and they just ignored EW, because in EW you find your first meld really early in the game but meld was never brought up in XCOM 2

That can also change with expansion obviously

steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=945783807

FOR THE EMPRAH!

The lack of The Bureau ports is killing me, especially as the Mutons in it would rig pretty well to the existing Muton skeleton, I think, and you could probably rig Outsiders to Advent troopers with some elbow grease.

>implying there wont be mods for Muton Mercs once the Expansion hits

we're trying user but it's not that easy.

That's comical

I reckon EW is canon but they did some pick-and-choose on what stuff to explicitly bring over. Mentioning MELD would also mean having to explain why it's no longer around, so they simply swept it under the rug. Same with certain things from EU, like Cyberdisks, drones and Sectoid commanders.

yeah, XCOM 2

You become less convincing with every post you make.

Do you have any proof the entirety of EU isn't a simulation?

...

True, but it would have been nice if Firaxis had made it official... Plus I'd like to imagine the introductory cutscene of the muton Merc leader as he beat the living daylights out of a regular muton-human hybrid pod.. With his bare hands!

With some Dialogue like:

>"The Elders have made you weak brother... I can't abide weakness in the pack..." (Snaps the neck of the Muton Ayy)

>"An enemy... of my enemy, still must pay me for my services..."

God speed user we believe in you!

Bretty good now imo, at least the early and mid game. Not sure about late game.

>Do you have any proof the entirety of EU isn't a simulation?
xcom only lasted months as stated in xcom 2, so yes EU is also a simulation to a degree, infact i'd go and say the time line went like this

REAL EU>>>commander captured>>>SIM EU>>>elders are worried about resistance>>>EW>>>XCOM2

XCOM 2 has EXALT Bandanas for your soldiers that comes with the vanilla game. Checkmate

>Elders worried about resistance
So EXALT exists and they just added them to the simulation. Given what we know about the new DLC and 3 new factions we will almost certainly find out if EXALT was a real thing the Commander crushed or just him finishing off XCOM.

Also the real answer is that both EU and EW are not canon with concerns to X2.

I just want my stalker waifus desu senpai

enough with the simulation bs

it's an alternate timeline

EU/EW happened in one timeline

XCOM 2 in another

But they are. EU /EW are canon, X2 is merely set in a different timeline where Commander got his asshole ravaged by a gang of sectopods in the first month.
How are you still having trouble with this, /xcg/? It's been more than a year already for fuck's sake.

EXALT dont exist in xcom 2 canon just like how meld isn't even hinted at in X2 cause its all simulated. EXALT was just the "bad guy" as a means to hunt resistance cells down.

and just because they're in a simulation doesn't mean they are real in X2 lore

I really really hope that the DLC adds new cosmetics for Tier-3 armor.
Kevlar? Looks great and has a bunch of options.

Predator? Looks amazing and has all kinds of cosmetics which make it the best looking armor in the game.

Warden? You can remove the sleeves and put a nice design on it.

Will it be an improvement if we have bombing mission where XCOM comes in to shut down Anti-Air battery then Firestorm drops tons of bombs to destroy Advent facility?

>Predator
>the best looking armor in the game
What the fug am I reading

You literally see that EU/EW was a simulation in Xcom2, they literally, LITERALLY show you scenes from the games.

Meld is just ADVENT trying to carrot the Commander to kidnap civilians of interest to grab off the streets to refine into goo, that's why it goes "inert" if you wait fight too long to secure it, they evacuate, MELD IS PEOPLE!

I really need to try and actually finish Xcom2 before Chosen comes out

hey fucknut that was a callback

do you think the metal gear easter egg in silent hill 3 means solid snake is in silent hill?

The reason EXALT starts getting gene-modded soldiers is because Vahlen is desperately working to give the soldiers an advantage. They get laser weaponry because Shen develops it.

see you can make up all this stupid shit but it doesn't add anything

>meld is people

Yes that's totally the same.

it is

it literally is the same thing

it's a little callback, a little easter egg

It's fun to see how far you can stretch shit though.

LIKE THE SEEKERS WERE THE SPECIALIST DRONES ALL ALONG!

>literally see the commander gets implanted by a thinman with a chip and a muton SMASHING THE FUCKING BLAST DOOR
>easter egg
dumbass

You are comparing an easter egg from one game appearing on a game from a different franchise to scenes from a previous game appearing in the sequel of said game, in a game in which you are told that the events of the previous game(the invasion) happened and you lost, where it is flat out told that they used your giant thicc throbbing commander brain to make the alien troopers better.

it is never fucking mentioned again

there's a five second clip of EU/EW you stupid shit

They literally show you events from the previous game you stupid mongoloid, that's not a callback or an easter egg, it's informing the player what fucking happened how fucking stupid are you? Jesus christ.
