Sonic is about a blue character who beats up an evil scientist who specialises in robotics.
The blue character has a lot of friends, a lot of them used to be bad, and a red character who often comes to blows but is essentially good, even if the scientist knows how to get him to play bad.
The world is often put in to trouble but due to circumstances the scientist comes up with another plan.
Time travelling beings come from the future to unfuck things, but the status quo goes on.
This is the essence of a Sonic comic.
From this we can gather that Mega Man is a better Sonic comic/

That was pathetically short. I'm guessing instead of one big act they're going for lots of smaller acts like Colors and Lost World did. But for Act 1, that was VERY short.
I agree, boosting seems really underwhelming here specifically in 2D. It doesn't seem to reach anywhere near the speeds of Generations.

I... hate to be this guy, but can you really imagine a scenario that would be interesting and well thought out, and would work in this case and for these characters, and not play against them? And even if there was one, would it be likely for Sega to have been able to come up with it? Given the previous stories we've had, I believe it will just boil down to a boring plot device that will be poorly thought out and boring as hell, with the characters suffering as a result.
I guess its up to you to decide at which point you say enough. Given their track record and the path they've shown to have taken for the game, I'm rather upset.

Given how SEGA/Sonic Team has a tendency to be unpredictable at times, I'm choosing to wait & see what happens before deciding.
I just realized the grinding section of Sonic's act is a lot similar to what we saw of the Park Avenue Hero act.

What if Infinite is like an evil 'Custom Character' that, rather than join Sonic, wanted to join Eggman? Rather than JUST some "ancient evil force" that Eggman awakens, what if their purpose first and foremost is serving Eggman?
And, what if, they act like a Rival for the Custom Hero?

All four of them have begrudgingly teamed up and are mad at Sonic because he was unable to keep Eggman and his new friend from conquering the world. Metal Sonic is there out of revenge, because Eggman tossed him aside after he upgraded his forces. Part of the plot involves convincing The Edgy Four to join your forces, which is done by beating enough levels to convince them that you're not useless this time, but even when they do they make it clear they're only teaming up temporarily to defeat a greater evil.
There, a quick summery pulled from my ass in two minutes that makes sense and is consistent with all of their respective characters.
Not saying it's a positive, but it just means to me that you can never really say for sure what they're gonna do.

Other info is that Sega claims this isn't a final build on Switch or any systems so far, since someone reported a bug on the Switch demo that would turn off the hub and would make the level un finish able another weird bug was that in the Egg Dragoon boss he would just sit there and laugh and not attack again preventing you from beating it.
