No tach, but sounds like something 4k to 4.5k RPM

No 5th gear. Not sure if it could hold 70MPH if there were a 5th gear.

I had a Mercury grand Marquis, V8 and 2.93 gears with a bench seat, that was pretty comfy.

My minitruck that came with 1t inch wheels is sitting on 31s right now. It kinda struggles above 60,.don't really know if I could hit 70

14 inch, fuck. Not 1t.

what the fuck r 4.56 and 2.93 gears

If you have to ask, you won't understand my answer.

The Rick and Morty thread on /co/ is this way

Numbers that mean nothing outside of their model.

My car has 3.55 gears. But because all transmissions and tire diameters are different it doesn't mean anything to you.
A 4.00 in say an e36 is aggressive but not overly aggressive. A 4.00 in say a wrangler is off road levels of aggressive and makes the car almost unstreetable.

2.93? That's weird, did you put them in yourself or did the previous owner? Stock is 2.73, that's what I've got and it's doing sub-2k at 70mph but I'm not sure of the exact RPM because lolnotach.

Fun game.

do manuals have an overdrive?

Some do. An gear under 1:1 is basically an overdrive as well

Nissan Silvia S15
2L, 4cyl, t28bb turbo
3000rpm at 68mph

Mitsubishi Lancer
2.4L, 4cyl NA
2400rpm at 68mph

Most of them do. Generally on a 5-speed 4th is 1.00 and 5th is overdrive, 6-speeds are sometimes 5 as 1.00 and sometimes 4th as 1.00 with two overdrive gears.

In general, overdrive on a manual is another entire gear with a lower ratio, while most (older) automatics have a separate overdrive that kicks in, i.e. a Ford AOD is listed and referred to as a 4-speed but it's actually three physical gears with a separate overdrive unit that enables while in third.

Wut.
To spin 33s or 35s at a decent rate 4.10s are preferable, and loads of people run an even shorter gear than that on the street. You don't know what you're talking about lol

My last car (1986 MR2) turned 3500 at the same speed so this is a nice upgrade

Sorry, I'm talking about the wrangler, not the plastic sissy JK with a mini van engine.

If you stick 4.10 gears on a 4.0 with 31's you're going to be out of your power band in first at about 20mph.
So you're going to be absolutely beating on the car to get it going, and you can forget the highway. People rarely go above 33's on a YJ or TJ.
You really can't with out extensive modification.

Uhhh you can lift a TJ 3 inches and fit 33s no problem. And people will often run 3.73s or 4.10s with that combination as far as I know.

And as queer as the JK is, it's still a Wrangler.

What made you trade in the MR2?

It's one from a Legacy GT in Japan, and it looks 9000 times better than the outback grille it came with.

When I get off work

If he's straight asking what they were, a Wikipedia article would explain it better than a snarky post on the chins.

He asked, I guided him to a better answer.

You chimed in with a dick for a face after. kys. I wasn't saying I was smart or he was dumb. I was saying to get a base understanding, start in the right spot.

I do know that driving Highway, even with hitting VTEC and hooning, I can get 31mpg (US), so the rpms at highway speeds while cruising is pretty low

I think it usually hovers around 2100~ at 80 mph. The tall fifth gear is why it's mpg is 19 city and 29 highway.

where is this fibber user
