I personally wouldn't care as much about how ugly MvCI is if it had characters I liked in it. But for some reason they decided not to put in any Rival School characters, Gene, Asura, Jin, or X-Men.
They're glorified esport celebrity endorsements for the newest Capcom game at this point. I wonder how nobodies rationalize the whole "Capcom games have the biggest prizes and I can win more money" logic when all the best players get pulled behind closed doors to get more intimate knowledge of these games earlier than everyone else.

The Capcom side are charcters from dead franchises that didn't feature in MvC3 (so they'd have to work on their models from scratch) and Disney doesn't own the rights for the X-Men so they've been literally killing the IP, as you can see if you check the latest comic events regarding them.

Disney owns the rights to X-Men in games though, what they don't own is the movie rights, naturally they don't want to feature X-Men in anything anymore since it's basically free marketing for Fox at this point.

They found the best way to milk you though dlc.
The game releases with ton of characters from mvc3 who nobody wanted so they can sell you the most beloved mvc3 characters afterwards with low effort because most of the animations can be easily ported. They know exactly what the fans want, thats why they abuse us like that, like the inicial rooster has fucking Jedah in it. They had to put a couple jems here and there for you to buy this shit.
Even if the gameplay is 10/10, that rooster and how they are setting you to get you to pay for all these dlc characters is unacceptable.

The guilty gear revelator DEMO had more fucking content than release SFV as a whole, that's just unacceptable, i don't even like gg past accent core, but it is easy to see wich game/dev is the shitty one here (i don't like some arcsys practices tho)

I play Guilty Gear almost every day, and in my day I played Soul Calibur from II to V. My first SF was IV on its deadbed, when they released that Omega update, and I still enjoy SFV. It's not my favorite fighting game, but it has its charm.
I'd never say that, almost every fighting game is worth playing. In fact I only see those arguments brought up in shitposting sessions, where the same trite arguments are repeated ad nauseam. People should stop pitting franchises against one another, it never produces anything of value.
