This was me with lawbringer before they added in his 33/33/33 with shove. I felt I earned my wins and parries, I still try my best to not be a shove shitter but it sometimes happens when I'm panicking or just want to win in any way.
Jackson Bell
No, don't bully. People glorify big boss, her plans were to expand war. It's all we humans know anyways
Ryan White
>Group of one cent and 3 lawbringer running around ganking and staggering the shit out of everyone >We manage to break their group down and hunt them down before they regroup again >We win >"Lol can't you 1v1?"
I don't get it I just don't get it, the sheers assholery of these cunts
Justin Collins
and you actually beat people with this shit? law is terrible now, as he always was. although im digging his new guard change
Liam Green
Why is Centurion so damn weak? >slow >opener is easy to dodge >your greatest enemy is 5 feet of distance >everyone knows how to parry the unblockable >everyone knows how to parry your heavies' >doesn't have any real confirms (I think his kick can land a light, maybe?) >zone attack is just straight up parrying yourself >after a lucky knockdown and leap attack you "ETZIA" which I think is latin for "stab my asshole while I'm not looking." >called the mix up specialist >has no serious mix ups Raider is better than Cent. I've played good Cents, good reactions, parry everything, but it seems like when I ask them for tips they tell me they struggle with getting anything done as well. Getting a parry is good and seems to be the only viable strat, do some useless combo to bait an attack, parry it, then make good use of a counterattack, assuming you don't parry their ass out your own range.
Nathan Thomas
>>doesn't have any real confirms (I think his kick can land a light, maybe?)
so you've played him for 5-10 minutes and this is your opinion so far? good to know.
now shut the fuck up and form an opinion when you've actually played him a bit
Nicholas Bell
Aww, tried duel for the first time and it turns out fighting people is hard if they're not locked on to someone else?
Jose Long
>doesn't have any real confirms (I think his kick can land a light, maybe?) >has no serious mix ups
You're right that Centurion is weak, but I feel like most characters are weak when played by a retard.
James Robinson
Did revenge get nerfed again? Seems like it's not working at all how it's supposed to for me.
Brody Hughes
Yeah sometimes. I play Dominion mostly, I do know I can't beat most Duelist since I don't have the mind for Mindgames. I'm a simple man. Then every now and then I manage to hit parry on lights, though I can parry second lights at 80% rate. So Ad-Mortem Fucks them up.
Brayden Allen
Lawbros unite! Our time has come with this update!
Daniel Ross
I'm rep 3. >heh, you probably don't even know what honor is >le returd Thanks Reddit Wardens. Now do you have any advice for how to play Cent? Everyone dodges the kick, parries or blocks the heavies, blocks the lights, and techs my gbs. I got to rep 3 playing duels and now everyone isn't shit and there's nothing I can do with Cent.
Jack Martinez
>gee lawbringer why do you get 40 nipples?
Kayden Taylor
>Join elimination >All players parry all of my light attacks
Being Goki is suffering
Charles Cook
that's why you feint into gb and make them afraid to parry. then ummm, you kill them by chip damage
Charles Lee
It's Femwarden's fetish
Christopher Long
>Enemy team has two cents that gank together >My team keep bitching about it >Tell them for the fifth fucking time to not attack them head on alone, keep with your own team >Only for them to fuck off in their own direction and then bitch again
What am I to do
Asher Hall
whiff one heavy, then trade on the second
Who would be Femkensei's boyfriend?
Oliver Smith
Drawfags are back?
Jordan Ward
>Who would be Femkensei's boyfriend? Femshinobi? I think Shugoki is a better fit for Nobushi and I don't see Femsei racemixing or having a twink boyfirend.
Austin Rodriguez
>I don't see Femsei racemixing or having a twink boyfirend Femsei has no boyfriend. Her Love is pure to FemOrochi.
Nathan Scott
>Femsei >Having a BF >Implying she doesn't keep a harem
Jace Miller
Kick is safe to use. Mix it in with dry dodges into GBs. This won't work against good players, but you can soft 50/50 people who dodge early. It's more effective the longer you wait to trigger the kick in the dodge. Practice triggering the kick at the last moment before it would register a GB instead.
If they ever block a heavy instead of parrying it, that lets you launch into your mix ups. Following a blocked heavy, you can 500ms Followup Heavy, Unblockable, Partially charged Heavy, Heavy GB Softfeint, Jab, Charged Jab, or hard cancel. Mix it up and try to be unpredictable. Everything you do can already be dry reacted to, so you don't want to add being predictable on to that.
Parry lights and get your free 60 damage. You can also get a free exhaust and 60 damage if you land a GB near a wall.
People don't know your range as well as you know your range. Whiffing a full charged heavy from a mile out is a safe move that lets you launch into a 500ms heavy. Mix it with partially charged heavies and GB softfeints to avoid getting parried. Cent has the interesting choice to partially charge any heavy he does to fuck with the parry timings. You should do that.
You pretty much never want to use the unblockable heavy. Using it is basically betting on your enemy panicking and trying to dodge out or something stupid.
I could probably think of more, but this is generally a good base. Centurion isn't good really at all outside of his confirms off parries and GBs, but you can make it work against most people.
Hudson Ramirez
>Law vs Law mirror
No thanks. Facing Lawbringer as Lawbringer is almost as bad as facing Conqueror as Lawbringer.
Evan Nguyen
Take Lawbringers shove on block out of the game right now.
TAKE IT OUT
Joshua Barnes
So is FiatLux worth using now? 25 Damage, no Stamina sounds like a good deal. I'm having hard time deciding between it and Thick Blood, since latter pretty much fucks any dude with bleed. But it's only on PK and Nobu, but few others can gain it via feats.
Michael Carter
>But it's only on PK and Nobu And Valk And Shinobi And anyone with Sharpen Blades
Luke Walker
Kinda. Been dividing my time between exams and drawing stuff on Veeky Forums and /mlp/. Then someone started talking about Femsei's butt in the last thread. Still got a bunch of unfinished stuff too; should probably finish it. Lord knows I could use some anatomy practice.>Shugoki is a better fit for Nobushi I like that one
Carson Watson
Is guardspeed update live already?
Kevin Phillips
I always used it over thick blood. The only time I ever get bled as warden was from poison blades during a gank while we were breaking so I just didn't see the point. While flux has alot of utility. >can help you clear minions >can help you isolate/escape ganks >lets you nullify revenge >can troll teammates with >can kill people at regen health. Maybe if you want to run negative debuff than I can see running thick blood as a pretty good option but I go balanced on my head
Daniel Scott
>Facing a Lawbringer who literally never parries and just does the block shove
Kill me.
Dominic Williams
I CANT I JUST CANT GET GOOD. I play kensei all day trying to get good, I JUST DONT GET GOOD. I try to feint they see right through it, i try to not feint i get parried, i get my lights parried, my gb counter gb'd, i parry and try to gb it whiffs.
What do i do man?
Blake Clark
I hope you were playing an assassin and getting free deflects.
Brandon Murphy
It's even more boring than conqueror
Nicholas Sullivan
Play someone who's not Kensei.
Nathaniel Cruz
Getting good with a shit class wont change the fact that the class is shit
Ryder Hill
I'm dreading the guard switch update, it's going to make him even worse of a turtle than Conq once people catch on.
Andrew Collins
yes
Anthony Rogers
Hard feint heavy into light. Helmsplitter into midair; if they fall for it, follow with an uninterruptable heavy. Use your range. If you get to knock someone into a wall, go for the unblockabele, otherwise you leave that shit alone.
Joshua Hughes
I was a Raider. I won really hard since he was only Rep 2 and hardly knew what to do besides the block-shove mixup. He so rarely followed up with an actual light that I barely needed to worry about dodging.
Play Raider or something instead. Kensei isn't just bad, he's almost literally worthless.
Let's not go that far.
Played a few matches since the update and the two Lawbringers I fought were both enormous turtles who didn't even go for parries.
Adam Morris
How do i know im at a level where im good enough tho? im only playing kensei to improve.
Kayden Edwards
Can you consistently parry 500ms lights, dodge, and interrupt enemy attacks as needed? Then you're better than 90% of players.
Angel Mitchell
Well shit, that's not good. Hopefully part of the turtle meta update is removing those "blocks give free GBs/bashes".
Dylan Foster
which attacks are 500ms again?
Austin Roberts
Stop playing kensei for one. Play a class that can atleast apply pressure like raider, lawbringer, or warden if your trying to learn fundamentals. Once you got the core mechanics and turtling down play an assassin to learn how to play aggressively by predicting when they'll attack and attack before them. I learned how to play useing law and zerk before they got buff.
Wyatt White
are the kensei buffs as unimportant as they sound? >swift strike >get parried >helm splitter >get parried
Logan Hill
>shinobi gets the kick nerf >all the players learn how to abuse his multidodge glitch
great. and to make things even more enjoyable hes still next to impossible to punish while out of stamina
Jace Barnes
Kensei rewards good basics. Learn your parries and your doges, whom you get to hit with your sidedash strike etc.
Once you get the defense down, you can start on mixups.
Caleb Scott
Holy shit Deathmist is gross. The original smoke effect screenshot looked dope. Now it's just... awful.
Hunter Young
dev stream is up
Julian Moore
You still have to work off random hits and chaining into thin air unlocked to do anything, yes
Noah Morris
As raider you can just dodge every time since you are the only hero who can cgb while dodging
Michael Martinez
Helmsplitter is only really useful to catch cents winding up their bullshit and fool people into eating a side uninterruptable. Swiftstrike can punish idiots throwing out kicks and headbutts, provided you time it right.
Jacob Jackson
>take away one of LB's only tools no, he doesn't need to be even worse.
Tyler Garcia
>i parry and try to gb it whiffs. That's just bad habit against certain matchups so just side heavy
You can does this with Ken to against shorter range opponents.
Evan Hill
Not to mention he still has a mixup on double dodge becuase of his ranged gb
Ian Ramirez
Kinda works if you're going for White Walker Viking shtick, but yeah, pretty underwhelming
Mason Jenkins
Ken isn't as beginner friendly as say warlord for a number of reasons so try that till you get a better feel for the game.
Death Mist looks ok on executions, pretty shit overall.
James Bennett
It looks like a dry ice machine or vaping.
William Thompson
THIIICK
Christian Bailey
He needs a rework just as much raider pre buff
All vanguards were one trick ponies and that didn't stick to the wall barring wards sb being super useful in this current meta of the game.
Aaron Ramirez
>Facing a Rep 7 Kensei in duels >First round, first match >First move he does is a Helm Splitter >Anticipating this >Parry it easily because Centurion's guard change is 100ms now
Poor Kensei players. At least Kensei is better at ganking now, right?
Jose Cruz
agreed, just being able to cancel zone into stunning tap makes raider play like a new character question is, what do you do with kensei? superior light attacks? 500ms side lights?
Ayden Diaz
Fuck no he isn't, he's more of annoyance my team ganks then anything. Take that washing pole and captures a fucking base, fucking hate them hitting and wasting hit so the enemy gets revenge all the time.
Owen Foster
Weebs have the most players? Poor Kangz
Christian Sanders
His feints count as combo parts.
Julian Gutierrez
I imagine a lot of people switched from kangz anticipating that it was weebs' turn to win
Nicholas Long
i love this idea, but I'd want it to come along with a buff to the damage on the second heavy in his HH- chain. currently the top heavy is only 20, same as a light
Adam Wood
THE KNIGHTS MUST WIN, IT'S OUR TURN
Nathaniel Moore
Maybe just make his combo two steps across the board? Speed up his lights. All feinting is free?
Charles Barnes
AH FUCK
Noah Collins
Lmao the stream is a cringefest
Nathan Bell
My only real suggestions for a Kensei rework are:
>Feints are free >Feints count as combo parts >Lights can be feinted >Soft feinting is a part of his kit
Any one of these or all of them at once would make Kensei more viable, but still based on mind games. Something I would be interested in is a character who has flickering built into their kit and animations, as in they can start a swing one direction and change its direction during the swing.
Jeremiah Price
Following the trends of the other two competitors all his tools should be readily available and not stuck to chaining his best pressure tool behind at least one light. All the other characters are variations in game play of the the vanilla three not the other way around.
Jaxson Rogers
...
Camden Butler
Fucking skirmish orders.
I hate them.
>Game starts >spam group up >everyone still starts randomly running around the map >and every fucking match half of my team disconnects
Then i end up myself in a centurion gangbang.
James Hernandez
why cant any of you people make sensible balance suggestions without utterly destroying or completely over buffing a character
Michael Parker
>real weapons there's calimacil swords behind them lol
Matthew Morris
I don't see what's so outrageous about those suggestions.
Henry Sanchez
>Samurai guy was in a dojo wearing robes >Viking guy was in armor and shit >Knight guy is wearing business casual and sunglasses
Xavier Ortiz
Either cod babies who think it's the same thing or power up crutch and wait for that damage up and get 1v4
David Garcia
Between valkyrie and lawbringer, which hero would you consider stronger/better/overpowered/underpowered/[insert adjective here].
Please give reasons for your decision.
Andrew Williams
The Patch that killed Valk.
Asher Wood
And orochi.
Connor Morgan
On consoles? Valkyrie by a country mile. Having 500ms lights that chain into a sweep makes her a nightmare.
On PC? Lawbringer, probably. He gets good parry punishes and punishes from blocking attacks. Valk's follow up lights are 600ms, and thus parry bait.
Elijah Miller
They removed flicker already? Wow. Also doesn't matter, Orochi is still best Bot Killer.
Gabriel Sanchez
Ban should be 30 minutes not ten, 4 games in a row ive been dc'd from because of quitters aaaaaaahhhhhh
James Perry
Game plans are different for both.
Valk has a lot of offensive tools, law defensive
Logan Cruz
So you're saying they're equal?
Anthony Watson
>feints dont cost stamina, leads to combo finishers, everything can be feinted, even lights, and cancelled into GB
yeah sounds good. easpecially for a character with a 40 mile long sword that does a minimum of 20 damage per hit
Jordan Howard
This game is unironically more dead than Dark Souls, how is this possible?
Thomas Cruz
I said one or all, not necessarily all.
Ayden Torres
considering how thoroughly valk can BTFO law, i'd have to say valk is better. she has guard on dodge as well as dodge attacks that chain into other things
if you think of valk like conq but far more versatile instead of like a slow assassin as most of her players do, she becomes a lot better
