Yeah the demo pretty much wanted to establish that he, Naegi and Hinata were different from the others and seemed more used to the situation because they've been in killing games before. That's why Naegi agreed with Amami's assumption of amnesia while in the main game Saihara and Kaede thought it was crazy.
