I tried a variety of weapon and did the best with hammer, despite me never using it before. Still triple carted after 30 minutes and never even ko'd him, so I guess that means fuck all. I don't have the timing down for hitting his head at all and I can't avoid his charge if he decides to do it by rolling, so I just get hit every time.

I'm just garbage at the game, basically.

The best to learn a monster's moveset while being effective is greatsword with a critical draw skillset. You just have to run around and occasionally unsheath in its fucking face

Your usual Raw Boosters and Sharpness skills, with Artillery Novice if you can squeeze it in.

Element is also really damn good on some monsters (like Watatsumi melting Graivos with Super AED abuse) so Load Up with X Element +3 can get you started on that front.

Most people talking about it have no past experience with MH so they aren't going to criticize it.

critical distance was confirmed to still be in the game, so those shitters will stay away from my babies, the shooting/reloading while moving is shit tho, edge jumps reloading was already too much of an advantage in 4 for my taste, and will just ignore the fast shooting ammo

I don't understand people who play these games to minmax and rush to the end.

Machinegun ammo will probably be shit, just like every other time they introduce a new ammo type and are afraid of making it OP, it'll only be OP in the next game. The walking won't make much of a difference though, I bet. The types of monsters that were easy targets for bowguns will still be easy, and slow walking won't be much help for repositioning against fast aggressive monsters - but if being able to move while firing includes being able to evade cancel, then bowguns will be fucking broken. I doubt that's the case though.

Does 3U still hold up these days? I've been itching for MH and since it looks like us God-fearing Americans aren't getting XX on Switch I have to look elsewhere for my console MH fix.
