Yeah arms warriors can kill a cloth twice as fast as a similar geared ret. The only point is to be a special snowflake. Especially since holy paladin is the most overpowered class/spec in the game in battlegrounds.

with engineering it makes it even easier. warriors literally have zero chance unless the mage is a bot/chinese gold farmer

Diminishing returns were in game since launch, with the list of spells affected by DR extended in 1.4.
And also some spells were put on the same DR, for example Fear and Seduction.
All of that is vanilla changes.

all the mage has to do is keep bonking and running away, you can break the sheep with bubble, skull of impending doom etc but eventually you will be sheeped and he'll mount and ride away. If you give yourself engineering then the mage gets engineering also. When the paladin is in melee range it just tickles as well. Not like a warrior swing + mortal strike dropping a mage to half health.

The first real raid in vanilla was BWL so you have to wait 6 more months of only doing MC/Ony for it to come out

Vanilla db is based on 1.12. The server you're on likely isn't at that patch so the stats are different. Make sure you delete your wdb folder also.
It's not hard it's just the first raid with actual mechanics though other than "stack fire resist"
