They wanted a monster based on dinos being found to have hair/fur/feathers, so they probably combined that with the fact that Theropods are theorized to have scavenged from carcasses a lot.
A vulture-saur with a strong sense of smell works pretty well with the ecology edge to MHW.

Portable 3rd and Freedom Unite are the best PSP Monster Hunters.
P3rd has less content, but it's a lot more polished and beginner-friendly, so I recommend starting with that.

I can't play this crap Monster Hunter games anymore.

I need my 4k 60 fps to enjoy a game like Monster Hunter. You can't even see shit and have to imagine everything you do. The Monsters look like pixel where you can't see shit. The world looks completely shit and the frame drops are the worst.

Monster Hunter Worlds will make Monster Hunter great again. All those console peasants can play there retro crap while PC users will enjoy the game for the big guys.
