Her fighting style and aesthetic is by far my favorite too. I love those reckless berzerker types tinged with bitterness. 9S fighting is kinda boring and 2B is a bit basic bitch in comparison.

Was it ever stated how A2 survived pearl harbor or why she turned? We know how Anemone survived but even she wasn't aware of A2

We could've know more after her survival and between these 4 years of going full rogue. But Anemone's and A2's interaction and relationship is kinda unclear without more additional exclusive story for them.

Actually even if it's unclear how she survived, come to think of it, it's pretty clear how she turned against YorHa. She probably never knew for certain that her squad was sent to die but it was probably clear once she ran into a type E killsquad sent after her.

Was it ever explained why 8B and company defected?

I think that it's not entirely uncommon for YoRHa members to realize the truth of what's going on, considering that they still haven't completed the last phase of the project which deletes all information on the project's development, ensuring that there's no evidence of conspiracy for them to even look for.

Backstory wise it really feels that only 9S is fleshed out. The 2E thing comes out at the last minute, and the whole background of 2B's feelings on 9S wasn't explored at all, gotta read side stuff to learn about it. Having some condex entries after beating the game would've been nice.

You can see a shitload of instances of 2B suddenly showing affection for 9S that come out seemingly out of nowhere, 2E thing merely explains them.

Though side materials sure cranked their love story up to eleven.

that's like the most important reveal of the story and it is being shown at the very end is a good thing.
Too bad it requires some thinking to fully understand and when A2 says this it feels very odd especially with 2 "unrelated " flashbacks(which only shows that 2B hated killing him even besides kill orders).

I think what he means is that we only get any insight on the internal dialog or thought processes of 9S, who's much more outspoken than 2B. That's because 2B is really trying to clamp down on her emotions and thoughts, as we find out, but I can see how he would feel that 2B doesn't get as fleshed out as 9S just because we don't get that same self-exposition that we do when 9S gets chatty or angry.

I think the subtler context of the 2B/9S relationship is made a lot clearer on a second playthrough as the guy who just beat the game, which is why I had no problems deleting the save data. I hadn't spent too much time grinding either.

This time I'm gonna switch the sidequests too and do them with a different character. Are any of them character locked on route A/B?

I don't meant to say the 2E reveal should've happened before, but the game lacks more material to expand on the 2B/9S relationship, could've been a part of it after you get endings.

It definitely is, all of the context of why 2B tells 9S to stop being suspicious of the commander, why she tells him (and herself) emotions are prohibited, where those sudden outbursts of emotions come from, and even the frustration she has right after the prologue when 9S uploads her data first, is all there so the player can finally understand it.

I don't think so, it's just some throwback outfits, haircolor, and a colosseum. It's good if you want to throw the devs some more money and get some neat goodies though.

Okay so after The Tower chapter, and selecting 9s and going with adam, or, and after the ending credits boss fight, the pod is asking me if i would help someone in the world but i would lose my data.

You can continue playing as if you had finished the game normally.

It's pretty much the end already.

Choosing to keep your data gives you the ending and gives you the ability to do the whole game again in new game plus, if you want.

In the top of the meat box in the forest can you kill the knight machines by the core? After the cutscene where the pod lasers the yellow core I tried to kill them for a couple minutes while they begged but didn't find anything that worked.
