You now have $1800...

You now have $1800, and have to buy a decent shitbox/truck in the North East US in order to commute to work and do general tasks. What do you buy Veeky Forums?

I've been struggling with the sheer amount of stuff on my local CL, so I'm curious what people would get.

1998-2011 Crown Vic P71

borrow 700 more bucks from family or save until you can get a civic for 2500.

EF civic. you don't have shit for money and they are going to be one of the cheapest vehicles to repair.

2k is a magical mark, try to get at least 2.5 together.

then look for 3k cars and get them down to 2.4 or even 2.

Pretty much anything older than 6th gen is dead to road salt or inspections.

3k is feasible, I just didn't want to have anyone hold it over my head for borrowing money.

For some reason people here are complete delusional retards and want like $2500 for clapped out interceptors.

post your local craigslist.

New front suspension control arms every couple of years and timing belt jobs that involve removing the entire front clip, but completely galvanized body and lots of room. Comfy too, and lots of parts from a B5 Passat are the exact same thing but cheaper than the Audi-branded stuff.

2002 camaro v6 with 130k miles

thats way overpriced for a shitty volkswagen
That should go for like 300-500
Honestly audi is a poorfag brainelt brand here

Jeep Cherokee XJ
It's the official vehicle of the North East

Find a fox body, or g body to rock for a bit

This. They may not be the best thing ever but the parts are as cheap as dirt and at least half as common. They're not hard to work on and the engines run forever. Get a '91-'95 to avoid emissions and just keep it alive with an OBD-1 scanner to check your sensors.

The only foxes we got in the price range here are either totaled, or missing engines.

If you don't give a fuck about transmission, then something like this is decent
