I haven't played the dawnguard side of the dawnguard dlc, but isn't it retarded how Serena and her mother are portrayed as good and Harkon is evil? They're all literally thousands of years old necromancers who drink the blood of probably countless slaves and have more skeletons strew about their castle than auschwitz in 1945. Never once was I allowed, as a vampire character, to question Serena about why she and her family worshipped the god of fucking rape. I don't think I could play the dawnguard side while being unable to kill serana the moment I see her.

Dawnguard's story is pretty underwhelming honestly, hell the whole DLC gives of that feeling.

Making Serana the central plot point is the part of its downfall in my opinion. They should've just concentrated on the opposing factions and their attitude and behavior toward the player depending on his actions, while also allowing the player to dictate the direction of the quest.
For example they could’ve made it so you could disregard both sides and just do the whole thing on your own, perhaps resulting in some kind of interesting and unforeseen outcome.

There’s so much that could've been done, but no let’s just railroad the player into what we think is the best outcome.

What you're thinking of is clearly too complex for them to write. They couldn't even make the factions solid as it is. If you decide to accept Harkon's offer the Dawnguard basically becomes non-existant from that point onwards, you barely ever have to deal with them or Isran.

Adept. Anything else is artificial difficulty. Get Ultimate Combat, TK Dodge and Mortal Enemies. Turn on Hardcore Damage in Ultimate Combat.

Yeah of course. Just grab the most recent version of bodyslide and you'll be able to make UUNP and CBBE bodies.

Book of UUNP is also kinda neat to use. There's a lot of armors to choose from. Some are meh, some are actually decent to use.
