Looks like a pos. A 10 year old car that is this cheap is not a good idea, with rare exceptions.
Get something reliable and unmolested, even if it's older.
doesnt look that bad. check it out
Why would anyone get the Fusion over a nice sturdy reliable Camry?
losangeles.craigslist.org
>200k miles
>Missing wheels
Bruh...
Shit i meant missing wheel
Been trying to get a rolling shell for a while, is this good?
Oh shit you're right she's totaled. A missing wheel is much worse that a busted bumper and mismatched hood and fender.
Not OP, the Fusion looks like shit too.
Also mid-00s Ferd, a complete lemon.
next time include the whole ad or include a link to it.
ventura.craigslist.org
Of course its perfect for a rolling shell, just check it out in person, have you never looked at a car on craigslist before? you didn't really need anyone's opinion on here if it has all the information you need in the listing.
how does everyone browse craigslist?
for me I go to 'by owner' and check manual transmission and see what's out there. Not looking to buy anything, just curious what exists
charlotte.craigslist.org
planning on checking this car out soon, if everything mechanically is safe how good of a deal is this?
saltlakecity.craigslist.org
is this an obvious scam? am i retarded?
yes and yes
sarasota.craigslist.org
I have roughly $2k to spend. Find me whatever cool/fun/practical or just generally interesting shitboxes are on here pls
...
That is going to be a very expensive project. I would honestly just keep looking unless you know a guy that can hook you up with parts.
Dude a toyota on steelies is as natural as the sunrise. It is in decent condition for a 20 year old shitbox.
Been eyeing e34s for a while and this one popped up. Think I could walk away with it for 1500?
corpuschristi.craigslist.org
Overpriced or worth it?
newjersey.craigslist.org
Best example I've seen of "muh mods adds value"
i'm friends with a bmw technician who has done the head cover gasket on my e46, other than suspension what else should i be looking for
fredericksburg.craigslist.org
yes? don't really like hyundais just want a sports car that isnt a miata
How is this possible?
pretty good for CA I suppose
rip
you could shop around a bit more
>no price
$1200-1500
3/10 really quite bad
seeing it finished might make you happier than other projects though
gotta be
>2k
lol
sarasota.craigslist.org
sarasota.craigslist.org
yes
sure and get it
how much work are you planning on it? I'd say keep looking
overpriced
also >lien

look at this glorious fucker.

1992 JDM Subaru Alcyone for $7450.
>dem JDM colors
>dat JDM spoiler
>dat RHD
>dat 12(!) disk CD changer in the trunk to adhere to the Bushido code
>only 103k miles on it
if i had the money for another car id jump on this thing so fast.
Look in good shape but those cars are seriously horrible in almost every way.
besides the shit factory transmission the only problems ive really heard about from them is just getting replacement parts since they shared so little with other Subarus at the time.
all it needs is a manual swap and a tweaked exhaust and that thing will fly.
Looking at this for a project
Anyone know 3rd gen J Body's?
baltimore.craigslist.org
It absolutely will not fly. It's got a shitty trans. Poor handling. It's slow. Bad brakes. Meh engine. And it's not really roomy.
The car is shit. Only poor teenagers think they will be fast in one.
Yup that's what I do as well but I'm starting to wonder if pawn shops post under owner or dealer
Been noticing shit like this all over Utah's Craigslist
What makes you think pawn brokers post under owner?
winchester.craigslist.org
should I buy this and ls swap it
I fucking love wedge boxes.
tampa.craigslist.org
Or this really nice Supercharged one?
tampa.craigslist.org
i can see why it's $650
wouldnt be surprised if it's been very shittily maintained. just fucking look at it.
ugly as fuck box deathtrap
That's the way to go I'm thinking about setting an upper range price limit
Also this

Here's another SI I found, this guy is demanding 20k for it
Do these people not understand you can get a brand new SI or even a Type R for this price? Why do they think anyone will buy their old modded SIs for the price of a new one?
>brand new Civic Type R
>$20k
what universe do you live in?
phoenix.craigslist.org
how hard is a head gasket?
ok my bad you can't buy it outright, but if you're gonna drop 20k on a si you might as well go the extra mile and use it to get the type r imo. especially if you want a "modded" si
>all it needs is a manual swap and a tweaked exhaust and that thing will fly.
>It absolutely will not fly. It's got a shitty trans.
Glad to see Veeky Forumstists still can't read.
honestly if you have to ask, you probably shouldnt do it yourself.
you can also call around to a couple local mechanics and ask for an estimate on replacing the headgasket on that vehicle.
I wouldnt fuck with it, but thats just me.
newyork.craigslist.org
Man some of you guys are so lucky, these cars are so cheap.
You have to pay $6k+ just to get something that runs around here, nevermind looking nice.
I guess its because i live in the sticks.
miami.craigslist.org
What could be wrong with it?
>What could be wrong with it?
It's an S13
so I should make sure to do a thorough test drive and/or ask to see maintenance records? is there anything else I would want to do?
What do you guys think of this for a first racer?
gumtree.com.au
Where abouts are you?
This car has probably been sitting a long time if it has less than 1k miles a year, other than that it's just a tad overpriced (assuming everything works fine)
>h e a d g a s k e t s
>b u r n i n g o i l
>I t ' s w h a t m a k e s a S u b a r u a S u b a r u
>rebuilt
I know, I know, but cheap and 40k miles
He says he's had it for 18 months and no issues, but what else is he going to say...asked about frame damage
dallas.craigslist.org
Can get one with 20-30k more miles on it and a non-rebuilt title for the same price
That said, look at it and crawl under, get it on a lift if you can for a full inspection. I almost bought a car a while back that would need a rebuilt title because it was totalled by hail. Sometimes cars are totalled for asinine reasons.
>Can get one with 20-30k more miles on it and a non-rebuilt title for the same price
Tru. No issues getting a V8 with 50 - 60k miles then ?
Not really so long as it's been taken care of and not driven by the typical mustang bro.
>new timing belt
that's how you know the owner cares about the car
Then I will be on the lookout.
Thanks lad.
No mention of mileage
>419,981 miles
orangecounty.craigslist.org
Man this looks fucking great, my fucking parents want me to have a car with backseats though.
FML
That front end is hideous
Yeah, the Ranger was better in that regard.
It literally looks like one of the edits seen in the recent gen truck threads
I know it's a Kia, but bear with me guys.
>145k miles
>5-speed manual
>steelies that actually look great
>SUV practicality
>Hyper affordable
inlandempire.craigslist.org
I k-kinda want it guys.
RWD based, but still kinda shit
New an old guy who got in a small accident and the engine caught fire
Could have been a bad weld from a previous repair.
He bought it from the dealership new, he got in a small incident where the front passenger headlight got punched in and it caused a short which led to an engine fire
Oh shit, well that's kinda worrying.
I guess I'll keep looking then, still going to keep it bookmarked because stick shift SUVs are getting rarer by the minute.
Why does this look too good to be true? Also, not sure if this is the right thread
I know Neon engines are pieces of shit, but I really need to practice my stick shift driving and this looks like the perfect beater.
What do you guys think?
sandiego.craigslist.org
...
akroncanton.craigslist.org
I know this is probably a very, very bad idea, but what exactly is the process for recovering title while not having him instantly raise the price once I've done the legwork.
I'm figuring it's either stolen or a lein, but is there any way to figure it out prior and hash that out before the sale.
Or is there some other fuckery going on?
I fucking hate this state
miami.craigslist.org
Isn't that the same kid that Tavarish bought the piece of shit SW20 from?
>is there anything else I would want to do
yeah save up some more $ so you can get a better car that isnt trashed
washingtondc.craigslist.org
>under 100k miles
>only $1800, and owner makes price sound negotiable
>"clean inside and out"
What's the catch here boys?
way over. tranny's fucked most likely. 7th gens go for up to 8k max with less than 100k miles where I live.
Catch is you can't sell manuals around DC or Fredericksburg unless they're sports cars
No one wants to commute in beltway/I-95 traffic with a manual Honda Civic
orangecounty.craigslist.org
Is this a good price?
I guess it is, I noticed he didn't mention shit about whether it passed the sniffer or not tho
Also
>2WD
That right there is the main reason it's so cheap
How are these BMWs?
sacramento.craigslist.org
non VTEC. it's an lx. so it's slow.
swap head, cam(don't bother with stock one), and other essentials and you can have vtec on it for around 400-600$ and move it from mid 90hp to 130hp ish. also d17 is terrible on gas. even for the manual your lucky to get over 30mpg hwy.
and I'm saying all this as someone who really likes their 7th gen. also the manual tends to have bad throw out from retards. the mounts can be absolutely fucked if they weren't replaced by honda(it's free do it).
I have the 05 auto, and it’s a blast. I say go for it. I’m on my second engine and the fucker shakes like a leaf, but it is a good shitbox.
stlouis.craigslist.org
what are some things i should look for when test driving this? ideally i'd like to get the price down to about $225 tops
inlandempire.craigslist.org
>3. Has an oil leak to stain your driveway:-). This is not worth fixing unless you have time to spend looking for it.
lel
You buying a vehicle or a plant?
You really know nothing about the SVX, do you?
>>The bad: 5-speed manual...
all of my keks
Atleast he's honest ¯\_(ツ)_/ ¯
Handsome car, especially for $1.6k
philadelphia.craigslist.org
thoughts? really wishing I had the cash
Doug Demuro absolutely HATES these for some dumb reason.
>rebuilt
could be gr8 or a shitshow, probably leaning towards the latter
old mercs run gr8 tho, so make sure to test drive and check for damage and/or rust.
