What is the most "special" feeling car you can buy for under 50k?
What is the most "special" feeling car you can buy for under 50k?
Dodge Viper
$3k civic
>interior shrink wrapped around you
>nose extends 10ft in front of you
>doesn't sound like any other car
>seat belt clips on wrong side
I can't think of anything more exotic-feeling you could drive without spending 200k
a well built 1966 shelby cobra replica
early 2000's SL65 AMG
dodge ram 1500 SRT-10
~70's Avanti
Lincoln Continental mark 3 or cadillac eldorado 5th gen
mid 2000's aston v8
what year are these magic 3k civics from
Year is irrelevant.
Just the magical dollar amount. I have a 6k civic and it's just not the same.
Hellcat maybe?
Theyre actually up to around 65k
RX-7 FD
Big power is the only unique thing about it. Otherwise it's the same as the other half-million Challengers on the road.
It'll be a 3k Civic eventually though, that's the nice thing about it
Wow, I never realized they were that expensive.
Mite b cool though. I think the idea of a land barge with a big ass supercharged engine is silly, but stupid fun.
1983 Porsche 911 SC
>2.3l aircooled boxer
>no ESP or ABS
>Step too hard on the gas in a turn and ur ded kiddo

all the chicks will dig it
>under $50k
01-05 or older if you live in a place with few degenerates.
I spent exactly 3k on an '04
bought my '08 civic lx for $3k. pic related is the original ad.
Sure its got high miles, and a few small dings and scratches but why should I give a fuck its a $3k civic.
>5 speed
>clean interior
>working ac/heat
My only complaint is that the rear visibility sucks dick. May sell this and buy a Honda Fit instead
but it looks like shit and doesn't have alloys and isn't an EX or si.
Depends, how well do you want it to drive for 50k?
All these 2nd gen Vipers on sale with low mileage make me sad, because while I could afford to buy one, I could never live with one, since it's logistically impossible for me to own a second car, and winter driving would be a huge pain in the ass.
Honestly at that price a newer Corvette would be better in every single way
GF's brother bought a newish maserati quattroporte for around $50k. He let me drive it for a day, it felt very nice compared to my shitbox.
A Corvette is probably a better car than any Viper, but they just don't do anything for me. I find Vipers immensely cooler and more special. A Corvette would be nice but it wouldn't be a dream car.
Honestly probably something bonkers like a TVR.
The viper is basically a TVR with pants on though, do that's pretty crazy too.
snek
holy fuck these old TVR's are getting cheap enough to be tempting.
I wonder how much it would cost to make it handle.
Maseratis are literal garbage. Do not EVER buy one.
NA1 NSX, 996 911 turbo, Viper, RX-7 FD, maybe a 718 Cayman, and if you are autistic like me, a $20k 1993-1994 MR2 SW20 Turbo hardtop with REALLY low miles.
ITT: no cars exist before 1980
There are hundreds of classics for under $10k even that will feel more special than anything mentioned so far
alfa gtv, especially if it has period correct mods
everything before 1980 that you can get for under $10k drives like a piece of shit though
My father's '67 Continental is a classic, and it is definitely special, but it certainly isn't something you can enjoy very often. You can DD a 911 996 Turbo like said. A fun daily is the best experience ever.
This. They’re beautiful and they sound beautiful but that’s where the list of good things about them ends. It’s such a shame.
E30 m3
hnnnNSX
Toyota Sera (with a 4A-GE swap)
Pretty much this.
My brother had one for a few years and it was a strange thing to drive.
It's stiff and strong but the seats, the comfort and the total lack of DD-qualities makes it a car that I'd never wanna drive unless I wanted to hoon.
This. anything retro Italian.
I heard the seats are actually super comfy
I compared them to the seats in my 2004 9-5 Aero, so maybe I was too harsh on the 98' GTS Viper.
Lotus
The Charger hellcat is more better 3bh friendo

Never realized how goddamn tiny those things are until I saw one in person and talked with the owner. My NA Miata dwarfed it, like the Miata would look next to a Mustang.
The Elise is like a beer can on wheels.
thanks user

You can find R35 GT-R's for around $50k. I'd prefer to import an r32, but I think the R35 would be easier to live with and much more comfortable.
...
Lotus, NSX, FD, E30 M3, Viper

How cute it needs training wheels
Why not a V8 Espirit especially if you have 50k to spend
Nissan cube.
Wat is 240z?
Ma nigga!
That's the point.
It was meant to be a modern Cobra in the sense of being a stripped-down no-bullshit pure sports car. The first-year Viper doesn't even come with frickin door handles or anything.
The F-40 is largely the same way in terms of being a stripped-down sports car.
You need to remember what most call sports cars, the car-snobs call "GTs" because of all the conforts given to them, and only consider stripped-down stuff that's basically a street-legal race car to be a proper sports car, which is what Viper was in its first year, but added amenities to help sell it later.
Either Snek or a Model T.
>3 pedals
>hand throttle
>transbrake only
>must reverse up hills
I’ve driven one and it’s so odd. It’s like operating a piece of farm equipment on the road.
Don't think OP meant "special needs"...
But that isn't a car, user
Supra
a fat gt with a body kit no thanks a Z32 is more of a exotic than that lard ass
>under $50k
>$3k
No shit dumbass

Where did the Supra touch you, user.
