they're much better than turbo v6s

wrong.

Why would anyone with a functioning brain bump this thread?

next time I want to overpay by $15,000 for an engine I'll consider it

ignorance

Cheap, bullet proof, tons of low end torque. Next question.

>tfw own a Miata and an LS4 equipped Camaro
Laughing at cucks who can't appreciate both

>aerondight

You forgot compact.

>good power/torque
>cheap
>simple
>reliable
>HUGE aftermarket support
>fairly small dimensions which makes it a popular swap

If there's another engine that hits all these categories, we'd be using that one, too.

>2 inline 4 motorcycle engines welded together
thanks but i want my engine to last more than 50,000km

fuck it, i'll take the bait
They're everywhere so they're inherently easy and cheap to repair/maintain/upgrade, you can get good HP/tork on stock internals, they don't explode when you throw a turbo on it, and they're pretty small for a 'murican vee-ate
no u

Well OP give me some good alternatives then. I am unironically thinking LS swapping my 30 year old Mercedes but since I don't live in burgerland obtaining LS engine isn't as easy or cheap where I live compared to 'murica where you probably can buy one cheap from your local supermarket along with your groceries.

>not appreciating all engines for their unique characteristics
>being this engine-phobic and ableist in 2017

Why aren't you dropping in a straight six turbo diesel from a 300D and making insane plumes of black smoke everywhere while making enough torque and power to lay rubber down on the earth's mantle?

It would easily go for six times that and beyond if you weren't too fucking lazy to re-shim the valves, change the oil, and keep the air filter clean

I understand that sportbikers do not. Have you ever tried to work your way through the mess of plastic on a CBR until you've found your way under the PLASTIC TANK COVER and gotten through enough of those bullshit plastic clip thingies to do an oil change, which, mind you, requires moving the coolant overflow reservoir over if you want to get the filter out? No fucking shit they don't take care of their bikes that dilligently.

But on an atom you really have no excuse.

>gsxr k5 1000 187hp/l

pushrod fags will defend this

Another shit poster... unbelievable.

1000cc gsxr engine: 40 ftlbs
5.7L: 400 ftlbs

Also bike engines don't scale with any degree of reliability due to reciprocating stresses at super high rpms.

This comes from a K1200R rider

and light and cheap and fantastic aftermarket
dis

It's not about how many ft/lbs it's how you use them.

The ls4 is for front wheel drive cars . Is you retard?

Extremely light weight, extremely small, easy to make power, easily obtainable and high capacity gets rid of turbo lag problems that small motors have.

/thread

The k5 1000 doesn't even rev

With cars it's like with women. Some men enjoy small butts. some big boobs, some even enjoy getting their balls smacked with a wrench by a midget.
And ehh frankly I don't care if you like V8 engines that's fine and dandy if not also cool. It really depends who drives that thing.

A low resolution image of an amazing engine? I don't know user

>implying pushrods are more reliable than ohc
lol
ohc is lighter, dumbass.

the ls is the thicc latina of engines

not the best but decent and abundant

Nope

>some even enjoy getting their balls smacked with a wrench by a midget.
and we all know who they are dont we

The easily replacable tank cover is one of the reasons I like the CBR1000RR. Why wouldn't you want this?

Really all bikes are insanely reliable if you follow the maintenance and have the valves adjusted.

>3.5l ecoboost 400lbs 700hp
>lt4 529lbs 650hp

This.

I also like turbo i6 diesels and petrol.

As well as V8 turbos

Thanks but price is a consideration

what car is that?

An engine? To make your car go? Moron.
