Granted, I wasn't expecting, nor hoping for a multi-million dollar budget for it. The first few episodes were fine, but the background characters (like the other band's characters) and Roselia looked horrible compared to PoPiPa and in game. Ran had two streaks of red hair, when they showed Misaki and Kaoru, I seriously had to stop and think "why do these background characters look like someone I know?" then it finally clicked, just that they looked so out of tone with the game.
And especially in the last few episodes, the character models were often distorted for a handful of frames. I noticed it mostly with Otae.
But overall I can't complain. I've seen stuff much worse, and it wasn't terrible. Plus we also got that fan-made cringe-worthy but somehow hilarious MS Paint version of the ending credits.

Don't forget the game still wasn't out during those early cameos, I don't think they even had their seiyuus established when they made those episodes.

That's true I suppose. It's kind of surprising they didn't put more care into the cameos. I wonder if it's a reflection of how popular they expected the other 3 bands to be.
