Where were you when MVCI was confirmed to be even more dash and mash with no zoning or keepaway allowed than MVC3 was? Don't say they can fix it before release, if this game is releasing when they say it is it has to start being printed within the next month or so.

Time, space and reality seem like good stones for zoners to have though. Also you mentioned lockdown projectiles so that should aid in a more zone friendly game.

Except that tag cancel makes you run in ala strekken, which means that tag canceling projectiles is way more geared towards getting free setplay/dashing back in behind a beam. Also more importantly no meter build on block means that characters like mvc3 hawkeye who could build meter at a distance they can then use on gimlet to further keep you out is literally impossible in mvci.
Also doesn't help they nerfed wavedashing, meaning that you can't just plink dash super fast away from someone to get space, all the mechanics are aimed towards moving close to hit buttons because too many stream monsters complained about morrigan in mvc3 not being LE HYPE enough
