When will the DHR Generic Portraits stop being Japanese people with foreign names?

Quest's plot is seriously reliant on Sengoku. Not retranslating it would mean telling all the new people brought in by the VI release to pirate the game.
Also, they've already expressed interest in redoing Sengoku. It's either that or a non-Rance game we're getting this year.

I recall Pi-R talking about it in these threads shortly after VI's release. It was nothing official, but so was the Haruka thing before the betrayal.
All games before 5D+VI were dated, freeware, and translated as part of Maria's keikaku. Sengoku is neither of the above.
Mangagamer sat on 100% translated 5D and VI for more than a year, delaying Quest for a few months would be nothing compared to this.

Unsencored version + (relatively) good translation, It's worth it at least for me. Otherwise, we will probably never see a good sengoku translation (no offense to people translating it).

Right now. Threads 404 all the time and even threads that have actual discussion in them are forced to bump themselves. Make no mistake, the war has been going on for a while. Veeky Forums is six years old and it's getting too bloated to ignore, the mods need to either prune some generals or add a page or two

That was what was discussed back when it was talked about with moot and that was the general consensus and I agreed with it back then, but now I think it's fine and we should get one.

The thing is that Sill is just an extension of Rance dating back from the early games when Rance didn't care about anyone and her point was that "deep down Rance did at least care about one person"".

Series has moved on a lot and Rance and a whole lot of the other characters have developed a lot while Sill is still exactly the same. The safe heroine with no relationships with anyone bar Rance. We barely see Sill have any interactions with anyone except Rance, she doesn't seem to have any interests beyond Rance and despite having many opportunities to develop her as a character Alicesoft reject it. Rance VI is the most obvious example, compare Rizna and Sill's reaction to returning to Zeth.

We don't see why Sill loves Rance and know why she loves Rance she just does unquestionably so her part of the relationship isn't interesting and now that Rance does actually care about more people its even lost that factor.

Sill has remained the same character since 1989 - the safe, doormat slave who Rance has to rescue all the time.

I don't think the Rance-Sill relationship is one dimensional because it has dimensions on Rance's side of things but its certainly not as interesting as relationships where both characters are actually fluid and develop.

I don't rate her high but she's play. Also interesting to see Kanami interactions with her, which are a different type than she has with most other characters.

Menad is just a bit too easy. Rance doesn't even make an effort or even do anything for her.

I think her and Kanami are as easy, just that Menad ended up meeting Rance as an enemy first.

Kanami became easy but it took a long time for that and she tried to resist or tried to convince herself to resist and she has long history with Rance.

So she is only easy in IX. The Rance-Kanami relationship is done well.

From IX and Quest too, it seems to me Kanami just isn't easy because Rance keep treating her badly. If he had treated her more gently before, she would have fallen for him. And I suspect if she first met him as an ally like Menad, she would have fallen for him as easy as Menad did.

On a side note, Hikari was pretty easy too. Although she has a different development than those two after learning how he is like.

Hikari is also basically a one note one scene character. Menad's probably a bit more than that while Kanami is one of the main heroines.

Kanami is great and her relationship with Rance is great fun but things are a lot better the way things they are than they would have if they started out as allies and all love dovey.

Shizuka as Rance's first heroine and main travel partner could have been fun though.

Nevertheless, that and Alice's one are my favorite.

And so, user studying japanese solely because one got hooked to Rance reporting in. Despite not finishing Rance 03 properly (aka not fucking Gele and so on), I can assuredly say that it's one of the best games I've played and my favorite of Rance's series (from being played Sengoku, VI, Rance 5D and Rance 01). The game itself. The scenes are great despite of not being able to fuck a few of my beloved characters: Mill (it doesn't count if it's not inside) and Lie (it doesn't count of it's not inside). I was slightly afraid of voice acting thing at first, but it turned out to be awesome (not for Sill, though, I would give her a slightly less annoying one, considering her personality). I didn't like the gameplay but then again the only one I liked was sengoku's one it's not a gameplay why I play Rance after all. The charachters are, as always, greatly elaborated, and you see it much better playing in original language. The story is very fun and the writing, even though I don't have much, if any, experience with japanese novels, is very well made. As for the game from a learning standpoint, it's a significant increase of difficulty compared to Rance 01, that derived from various characters personalities, overall length of the game and use of specific terms here and there. I had been doing exactly the same thing as with Rance 01 - writing down and trying to memorize thereafter every unknown word that I happen to encounter. My anki deck after playing Rance 01 was around 4600 words, consisting of ~1600 unique kanji. Now it got a significant upgrade to 8500 words and ~2280 kanji. By the end of the game I was able to read it quite fluently for most of the parts, which I consider to be success. It took me a month overall.
Now for my plans on future, I'm eager to start playing sengoku in japanese for different reasons. I haven't played it for a long time, I like the game, I want to refresh my memories before
