How does /tfg/ feel about carrying THREE weapons in the upcoming update?

With shotguns and grenade launchers I frequently use the wingman elite

There are three types players that use pistols. The first are those who use Grenadiers or Snipers and feel comfortable without an AT weapon (a minority). The second, especially with the free trial week, are fresh pilots who don't know better and eventually pick up an AT. Finally, some players have a loadout for the early part of the match using a pistol as it's only pilots. Once the first Titan drops they switch to an AT weapon.

Really the vast majority of players do not use the pistols as AT is a much more reasonable choice unless you are using a Grenadier to tackle Titans. This whole argument that Pilots will be op is nonsense as pretty much everyone already uses AT

Ion is perfectly fine. She still does her job of filling a hole in any Titan team composition.

Ronin will always dominate northstar and just about every other titan for that matter

I've been using a Kraber/Mozy loadout while trying to git gud with the Kraber. I've been using satchels with ordinance expert for quick cooldowns on them. Works pretty well in lieu of an AT weapon

I'd want to have satchels but then I find I get more kills with them than with the weapon I'm trying to level. Not kidding.

I know what you mean. The number of times I've thrown a satchel out thinking "fuck it, why not?" and pulling the detonator for a kill to pop up are too many to count.

It was actually pretty fair and balanced in TF1. You had to stare at someone for several seconds and keep them in your crosshair before you could get your instakill, so it basically only worked against Slows.

I don't know how it plays in TF2 yet, I can never bring myself to waste a boost on it.

Does the Energy field upgrade for monarch ups the energy you steal also?

just use dice roll. Then you only have a slight chance to waste a boost on smart pistol

Idk I've never torn with the smart pistol and I've never been annoyed at getting killed by one.

It's not worth giving up amped weapons for IMO

It's fun for wiping AIs though

>A-Wall or maybe Cloak
>Firestar, Arcs or Satchels. ESmoke can also be annoying.
>Phase Embark, Ordnance Expert or Power Cell depending on preference.
>Titan Hunter or Low Profile (Depending on if you want to rodeo or get meter)

Obviously it depends on if you want to build titan meter efficiently or go full DPS. You'd have to tweak according to your preferred playstyle, but that's my basic loadout. AWall SMR/ Thunderbolt fucks Titans, particularly in LTS.

The L-Star's projectiles are easier to see.

It's a bad gun.

Its a very difficult gun to do well with. Especially as its competing with hitscan.
That's like asking a child "Why the fuck can't you play baseball on a professional level?" Sure the kid can play, maybe he's actually pretty good, but he will always be outclassed by a professional as long as he's a kid.

I don't even consider myself a good player and I still manage to do the best with it out of all the projectile weapons, except for maybe the EPG.
