This was developed by JAS, and yes the bonnet and spoiler might better be left stock for a road application.
The main compenent to get the wheels in the right place would be bigger offset wheels, the suspension itself is fairly similar to the roadcar in TCR. So it could be done with reasonable effort, and can also be applied to the previous gen Type-R

Agree. However, the bodykits I absolutely fucking despise the most are "fake racecar aesthetics" bodykits, which are designed to kinda look like track cars but have no functional purpose whatsoever. And then all the function that still remains is destroyed by adding camber until the car is literally dragging along the floor and unable to be driven at anything more than 30 miles per hour. (I'M LOOKING AT YOU ROCKET BUNNY AND LIBERTY WALK)

Mazda testing discovered that on the S6/S7 during extended periods of "spirited driving" the engine air inlet would rob the the intercooler and radiator of airflow, which would lead to overheating.
On the S8 they moved the plate upwards so it would block the radiator inlet less (allowing more airflow), and ducted the engine air inlet from behind the plate to solve the problem.

Completely ruined cars.
