Alright Veeky Forums, probably going to get made fun of.

I'm currently buying a new 18 Hyundai Elantra - commuter car because the last two used I had were constantly having issues. So I wanted to get a car with automatic windows and a warranty, gadgets and such this time.

MSRP of 18850 and net price 15850 listed on Hyundai
hyundaiusa.com/elantra/index.aspx?year=2018&model=elantra&trim=sel&extcolor=electric-blue&intcolor=gray

all dealerships are in the houston area say MSRP 20850, and net price 17850 with -2500 incentive.

except one which is selling it to me at the manufacturer's website price, and they are in austin. just flay saying 3 grand off, and 2.5 incentive which reaches the net price on the website. has 1k+ reviews and 4.5+ stars on multiple sites. They say they sale the most hyundai in the state, and maybe they are getting a good deal with the manufacturer.

guy I spoke with gave me a window sticker and a VIN, and said I can pick any color

but I feel like there is a catch somewhere

>but I feel like there is a catch somewhere
Yeah it's a hyundai

my dad bought a 16' one and routinely drives 4 hours and every friday and monday, on top of 20 mile commute on the week days, no issues at all.

otherwise it's a toss up from corolla or civic

Corolla user, you'll love it

It's a hyundai, you'll use the fuck out of that warranty, and it'll resell for jack shit.

lel

Im driving a 05 ford focus

the dash rattle and road noise make me want to die

theres also a brown recluse inside kf my car door

I read that the corolla has a loud interior and the elantra next to none. which is what made me overlook the weaker engine

fuck, this would make me extremely pissed off

Ive been frugal in my spending, but I have a better job now

bump

please tell me hyundai arent warranty whores

also corolla vs civic if thats the case...

Your dad got lucky. Hyundais are shit.

his was a new 16 model

are the newer models still garbage?

Buy a cpo 2016 model instead. You’ll save a couple grand, get the same warranty (if not an even longer warranty), same gadgets, same everything. Never eat the cost of depreciation on a new car. Not unless you’re filthy rich.

Im in the middle of harvey - so I dont want to buy used or preowned

Everyone's shitting on you but it's not bad OP. Pretty much any new econobox w/ warranty will be the same for your commuting stuff. Sentra, Corolla, Focus, Civic.. Sounds like you figured out you liked the somewhat sound-deadened "luxury," and Kia/Hyundais are loaded with tech so I say go for it.

Don't listen to the fags saying Hyundai isn't reliable. Since 2013, the company has done a 180 and makes some of the most reliable vehicles to date. Kia and Hyundai are the 90s Honda and Toyota of today.

Buy out of state. It'll be worth the savings unless you're a millionare. Personally, I could never understand why somebody would buy a new car unless they're rich. Trying to save money? But used. Must have a new car? Lease. But hey, it's not my money.

>buying from Monhuyndai
Make sure to post the little post card they send you with the picture of you standing next to your car.

Don't listening to the fucking memeing idiots. Yes Hyundai are pretty soulless boring commuters but their cheap decent transport. They aren't as Shit as they were in the 90s. It'll do you good.

the new one is cvt trash, don't kid yourself.

Don't buy Korean cars

You can get a fucking Evo in decent condition + a 3k Civic for DDing for that price. What the fuck are you doing with your life? Do you hate yourself?

what?
