I'm pretty new and I hear about DSPStanky being one of the best Lucios around.

My scrub eyes see someone who wallrides skillfully and becomes hard to hit, puts out decent damage, has occasionally clutch boops, speed boosts a lot, BUT HIS HEALING IS RARELY ACTIVATED even when he's surrounded by 3 teamates with crit low health.
Is that the actual correct way to play lucio?

I haven't got a single comp win on horizon since it was added on the rotation

No one plays Music Frog as a healer. He's mainly there just to stall and annoy the enemy team.
If you want a healer, have them pick Ana or Mercy, because a good Lucio will rarely prioritize healing over speed.

Stanky plays a strange 3rd DPS / Crowd Control role. A couple times per round, he uses his ult to defend the team.
He does not actually play as a healer.

He gets his teams fucked all the time because he's not doing what they really need him to do. And nobody will ever point that out to him because he does everything else so well.

Ive seen him get out-healed by a Hog before, simply because he spent the entire game on the top of the map hoping around.

lucio is only a secondary healer

hes there for speed boosts. as long as your team can bypass shields, dive comp will win, if they can keep dodging with lucio's speed then whatever healing the other one is doing will be greatly improved.

real issue is that 85% of the playerbase will use lucio as a healer because the coordination needed to do what dpstinky does is absurd. wich is why he fails as a team player too.

when my team has something absurd like 4 DPS i usually do better with a healing lucio that a tank with sustain

nah i was high masters in s2 (3831 season high) but then with the inflted welfare ranks i shot up to GM with ease in s3 and s4

i still recognize s2 was the best season for showing your real level

You have 3 different skills not including your ult, you have to think about positioning and your escapes constantly, you need to track at extremely close range when people dance around you to do any real damage, you have to setup your ult by destroying barriers first, etc.
