first for local man ruined everything ten times

>PD is not capable of doing that even with help. The best she can do is deal 6 points of damage with blight.
Which is a moot point, PD doesn't need to kill the backline on turn 1 with help because it has the second-best stun in the game.

>Killing is more economical than stunning. There is no point in using stuns if you can kill instead except for when you want to stall, which you don't do until there are at least 2 weak enemies left.
This is downright false. A stun is a direct 1:1 trade of turns, generally with a bonus in the form of damage or positioning. There is literally no reason not to stun as often as possible because they are a net gain at zero cost every time you land one. PD and Hellion stuns are even better, as they trade 1 turn for 2 enemy turns, immediately putting you in a turn advantage at the beginning of the battle and allowing you to focus down enemies without freeing others to damage you.

>What are you even talking about? No one is creating any "action advantages", marking teams are simply capable of killing the backline on turn 1 with high SPD/Ambush and Arbalest's damage contributes to that greatly. Something PD is not capable of doing.
PD spends 1 turn to take away 2 enemy turns with her stun. She is literally gaining your team an extra turn every time she lands it.

Slowly, gently, this is how a thread is archived

What is the hardest non-Darkest Dungeon (location) boss?

Is the new hardest difficulty much harder?

I heard they increased the limit to 100 weeks, but with the courtyard that seems to be just so people can do it and the DD with ease

i like the courtyard map but the crimson curse is an annoying mechanic

Is it time to restart?

>A stun is a direct 1:1 trade of turns,
yeah but an instant kill is a direct 1:infinity trade of turns

I don't have any audio for musketeer. I extracted the files in the appropriate folders and added the line.

Honestly, I'd just prefer a version where the musketeer's assets just outright replace arbalest's assets.

From the flavor text and nature of the CC trinkets, one can guess the possible backstory of the classes without comics yet
>Bounty Hunter got tangled up with some crime lords' affairs and hunts them in vengeance most likely after they killed his family or something
>Flagellant's religious sect believes all is lost and only through pain and suffering can there be absolution
>Hellion was exiled from her tribe for some reason and left in shame, travelling to the hamlet most likely to regain lost honor
>Houndmaster tried to expose corruption within law enforcement but failed and probably resigned
>Jester killed a tyrant king of which he had been working for as a jester and possibly a food tester as well
>Plague Doctor kicked out of her university for unethical experiments which she thought was leading to a medical breakthrough
>Vestal went to the hamlet in order to atone for having lewd/heretical thoughts that interfered with her job
This is all my interpretation so feel free to challenge it

Why is it that only heroes are affected by the crimson curse? Why is that the contagion never affects the caretaker, the abbot or the peasants?

I'm bad at this game, how exactly does Man at Arms work in position 4? There's a good trinket for that but what does he do there exactly and is there any point to it?

He shouts at people

How many weeks do I have on Bloodmoon? And how many deaths can I have?

You can do it 2 ways

a) Keep him in pos 4 where you will only be able to use guard, bolster and command
b) Start on pos 3 and have some heroes with movement skills (like jester) that can advance and move the MaA at pos 4

option b is a little tricky to get right but it allows you to use your riposte skill

Battles are not an unlimited number of turns. The only way to get an unlimited turn ratio is to end the fight without giving the opponent any turns whatsoever, which is much more probable with stuns than anything that involves 2-for-1ing enemies with Arbalest.

Bellow can't be used at pos 4

never restart

if you're going through hell, keep going

Use the second best, bolster.

I had all my ancestral trinkets on them though.

The other three characters in your team are also people.

So, i was playing the dlc up until now, but once i got an invitation and clicked to start the quest to kill the baron the game simply crashed on the loading screen, and now everytime i try to restart the game the loading screen appears as the hamlet, and the game crashes again

Does anyone know how to solve this?

How the fuck did you manage to die with that comp, with the occultist and leper debuffing the boss it's impossible to die

Is turning off abomination party restrictions cheating?

did you often fall on your head while playing as a child?

I have no idea what are considered good skill comps.

Also. I ran out of torches.

It's ok you'll do better next time friendo

Is a meme restriction that is only in place because the backer wanted it so. In fact red hook is planning to make the restriction system quirk-based instead

>Crests are the least useful heirloom
>Have a stack size of 12, almost every quest offers them as a reward

>Portraits are the most useful (or 2nd most useful after deeds)
>Have a stack size of 3, very few quests offer them as a reward

Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

I learned the other day that you can transmute between heirloom types. It's at a loss, but handy nonetheless.

Heirlooms are consumed at different rates, roughly proportional to their stack sizes anyway. Crest districts will use like 200-300 crests while there is no portrait district that uses more than like 60 portraits.

>crest least useful
>used literaly everywhere
??????????????

Do things get worse if I don't go to the Courtyard as soon as possible to sort out those hives?

>deployed a team for a short Champion quest
>Fanatic
>he kills two before HM goes Stalwart
>retreat is successful
>cut my losses and retreat from the quest
>Shrieker event
>fight gets out of hand, and the birdfuck kills another two level 6 heroes before disappearing

I've never suffered such a heavy loss in nearly 150 hours of playtime, but at least I got my trinkets back

pls respond

do sun rings work in the courtyard?

I'VE COME TO COLLECT (YOUR MEMES)

...

Not sure, honestly, I never had something like that happen to me. Try repairing/validating you game files, never hurts to try

>caltrops
>replace an awful skill with another awful skill
What did Red Hook mean by this?

What's a good team to take in the Baron dungeon? I got through the first part of it, and I'll face the fuckyoudile next

bleeder team or mark team. Been using Arb Occ BH Flag

Does firing someone count as a death?

AFAIK no.

No, which makes it all the more silly when people post their graveyards full of "killed by crimson curse" in this thread.

i really hate the infestation mechanic. im just trying to farm some loot in the ruins

already have 7 invitations. keep running into these guys in the ruins, keep getting infected with CC.

I've come to dread Champion level bloodsucker encounters in regular dungeons

Plague doctor has been my least used classed so far. Their ability to apply blight/bleed is overshadowed by others that can apply DoT and damage at the same time. Heals are weak even with trinkets. Stun + vapors is the best thing about PD but hearing that stuns have been nerfed makes me more weary of using them (seems like PD would be great for a no Vestal/Occultist party if stuns were reliable as they would still be able to patch people up).

Yeah its pretty bad. The enemies from the courtyard are generally harder than enemies from other areas and you get the a point where you're tired of getting cursed all the time.

>Houndmaster tried to expose corruption within law enforcement but failed and probably resigned
>Even the chef was on it
Damn doggo man, I would buy you a pint.

agree about PD. Stun definitely got a nerf with CC and the PD was not spared. In the courtyard, ive been using a lot of Arb Occ in 3/4.

I used to run PDs with a HM and stun-lock a team but dont think it's as strong anymore

nexusmods.com/darkestdungeon/mods/370/?

There's a female abom skin now.

nice nice

They have become one of the worst memes in the game. The whole process of waiting for infestation level to rise just so you can kill the boss drags the game out way too much.

cartographer or jester building? I feel like cartographer would trivialize courtyard because of constant brightness giving free +10 dodge

run localization.bat

That truely is an abomination

If you can build the cartographer go for it, i have it and i love it

that crit chance tho

>Antiquarian's CC trinket gives her +50% dmg and +5% crit against blighted enemies

Battle antiquarian is real nao

Cartographer.

Districts don't seem all that well thought out though and the tavern is "should I even bother" tier. Puppet Theater, Vintners, Cartographer, the Hall, and the Hand are the good ones.

Why am i sometimes hitting another enemy instead of the one i'm aiming for? Im pretty sure i'm not misclickig and they are definittely not getting guarded.

tfw hitting the boss for 40 every round without crits

> quick short veteran cove run
> bring antiquarian, occultist, *snorts* and jester
> Fanatic screen pops up
> Oh shit nigga here we go
> First half of the dungeon goes as normal
> Veteran Fanatic shows himself
> Realise my Jester is the only big damage dealer and my Bounty Hunter doesn't have anything that can hit the back besides the stun bomb
> Jester gets captured
> This eventually turns into a scramble to keep people alive, I can't get the stake down before people hit death's door
> 10 minutes later everybody is at 1 health or at death's door, fanatic at 50 health
> Jester manages to crit the shithead for 47 it's almost over
> In a desperate attempt to stay alive the Fanatic managed to kill my Bounty Hunter
> Antiquarian finished him off with a crit stab

I managed to finish the rest of the mission with the leftover crew at deaths door but man the fanatic doesn't fuck around.

...

I wish they used some other mechanic for the fanatic than the same one they used for Hag. Feels like they ran out of ideas when it came to bosses.

What's the chance on the fanatic popping up? It's gotta be really fucking low, because i'm past week 110 and i still havent seen him once. And i got plenty of cursed heroes.

The more cursed heroes in a party the higher the chance. If you embarked with four that all have the curse and have gotten the event so he appears the chance is pretty high.

For the "Idle X gains 1 resolve level" is that basically after I embark without taking one?

>yfw free building upgrade week

It fits the theme of the fanatic I suppose, but I agree that they could have tried to do something different. The shuffle mechanics with the stake were interesting however, they could have build on that more perhaps.

Yes

fuck I cannot beat the stupid baron

just lost my badass leper

>no abominable tits

I breezed through the entire dungeon with:
Occ, BH, Fla, HWM. Try it.

The baron is a motherfucker but he seems to miss a lot. I finally beat him when i fought him with a high dodge squad and a jester continually debuffing his accuracy.

is there a way to force the drop of cc trinkets?, some drunk fuckwit gamble it and the fuccking giant stopped dropping them.

lads, where can i find my save file?

What's the torch level of Bloodmoon ? Can i use Sun ring and such with it ? And how do i beat APEX, i'm still stuck at Champion croc

Vestal/Jester/Flaggellant/Helion did it well for me. Just pop the eggs one by one

You can farm them after the countess mission.

eh, the only thing i can think of is to max out the gipsy cart building and wait until you get lucky

>game crash when the pounder have 5hp

>Necromancer
Ancestor invites a bunch of scholars to come hang out at his place and teach him about magic, then kills them, reanimates them and chucks them into the ruins.
>Prophet
Rasputin shows up, so the ancestor tries killing him a few dozen times. Eventually, he says "fuck it" and takes him to Dankest Dungeon. Raz pulled out his eyes, bit off his tongue and ran away, gaining a 'cult' following.
>Hag
The original plaguefu shows up to ancestor's abode, but she was too kinky for him so he threw her out. She had a bunch of kids, grew a bunch of shrooms, and eats bandits in her spare time.
>Cannon
Vvulf and his succ bois killed fucking everything for the ancestor, then once he was dead they decided to stick around since thar be treasure.
>Siren
Qt 3.14 hobo girl had the hots for the smug, foreboding motherfucker with the whiskers. He cuffed her to a rock and chucked her in the ocean to get fucked by fish folk in exchange for shinies.
>Drowned Crew
Roads were getting crowded, so 'cestor decided to have his sketchy shit sent by sea. An asshole to the end, he killed these fellas when they demanded a raise by making their boat sink.
>Swine King & Wlibur
Ancestor's magic was pretty shit; he could only reanimate bones but couldn't even summon a demon. He summoned a big evil, but it was retarded so he dumped it in the sewer. Wilbur may or may not actually be possessed, but this little piggy was a fucker even before shit went down.
>Formless Flesh
Ancestor really, REALLY sucked at magic. He got frustrated and ragequit after the Swine King, dumping the rest of the retarded pig guts into the sewers to rot.
>the entire fucking Crimson Court
Back when the ancestor was only mildly a dick, he managed to spot a vampire at one of his parties. When she tried to give him the succ, he killed her and fed her blood to all his friends. Why not?

Teeth rake is your worst enemy. Bring a party with repositioning abilities. Lunge, finale, holy lance, all that good stuff.

Haven't really played darkest dungeon yet, just gave it a whirl a year or two ago and liked it but couldn't find the time to really get into it.

Now i see a new dlc came out and apparently it's harder. I wanna give it a shot but just to be on the safe side do any of you know a torrent for it? you know how it gues, if you like it, you buy it, but nowdays there's a lot of pandering and hype that gets thrown all over the fucking place and i ain't falling for another no man's sky.

>blackout when baron had 20hp left

Game should load into the fight

When she tried to give him the succ, he killed her and fed her blood to all his friends. Why not?

What a fucking asshole.

Also is there a way to give my heroes blood vials without sendind them into the dungeons?

They'll drink automatically in the hamlet.

if they're on wasting level, they get their share of blood automatically provided you have blood in your stock

Is there a lore explanation on why do we kill each boss 3 times?

They are all merely errant bits of flesh

>Forgetting the performance hall
My jesters have been carrying me though the courtyard with instakill finales.

you know what giant i mean? the rock one

i'm a retarded cunt so help me out there
is the stage coat the first building i should max out?

pls respond

>Necromancer
There were several scholars, and he reanimated all of them.
>Prophet
Rasputin was very hard to permanently kill even in real life.
>Hag
No explanation, but I imagine it may be a result of her experiments.
>Cannon
There were several of these, but if there was really only one, it could always be repaired.
>Siren
I imagine the fish folk fix her up, or Ancestor did a lot of sacri-wife-ing.
>Drowned Crew
According to lore, they simply refuse to stay dead.
>Swine King & Wilbur
The mutations were caused by possession. After destroying the body, they could just possess another.
>Formless Flesh
The ancestor's magic was really fucking awful, and he threw a lot of failed piggies into the warrens.

I don't know if you fight the Crimson Court creeps consecutively, considering I can't keep myself collected to carry on.

>Which is a moot point, PD doesn't need to kill the backline on turn 1 with help because it has the second-best stun in the game.
Killing the backline is preferable to stunning it.

>This is downright false. A stun is a direct 1:1 trade of turns, generally with a bonus in the form of damage or positioning.
Which is pointless. All you are doing is delaying enemy turns, not taking them away. They are going to act anyways once the stun resist gets high enough.

> There is literally no reason not to stun as often as possible because they are a net gain at zero cost every time you land one.
They are not a gain at all, they are just delaying the inevitable.

>PD and Hellion stuns are even better, as they trade 1 turn for 2 enemy turns, immediately putting you in a turn advantage at the beginning of the battle and allowing you to focus down enemies without freeing others to damage you.
And they are going to act eventually anyways.

>PD spends 1 turn to take away 2 enemy turns with her stun. She is literally gaining your team an extra turn every time she lands it.
The point of battle is not to have more turns than the enemy, the point of battle is to leave it with as little casualties as possible or even in a better state if possible.

I don't care if you stunlock ranks 3/4 for 10 or 1000 turns and take hundreds of their turns away compared to yours, if they get to act once you fucked up. If you kill them on turn 1 there is no way for them to act.

Stuns are only good for stalling or when killing the enemy before his turn is impossible. The thing is you are making this impossible yourself by focusing on stuns rather than damage.

Personally, I go
Stage Coach>Guild>Sanitarium(rooms)>Blacksmith
