Fine you want some negatives? The game is a buggy mess, the legion is unfinished, lots of areas like freeside and Westside are unfinished, energy weapons are kind of shit, autosaves bloat the save file, there are crashes out the ass, it looks like shit, the voice acting kind of sucks.
Despite all of that there are still way more positives and it's still definitely a better game than 4 and 3 in almost every way

Btw I'm And if you want negatives for FNV, here you have the the biggest offender: Obsidian didn't develop the game by themselves and with their own assets.

Literally almost EVERYTHING that's wrong in New Vegas is Bethesda's fault, in one way or another:

- The shit engine with everything that entails: janky animations, ugly caracter graphics, very buggy, happy to crash.
- The 18 months given to Obsidian to make a spin-off game that didn't overshadow its predecessor. What Obsidian did was give the middle finger to Bethesda and say "fuck it, we want to make a game that rivals Fallout 3". That is why the game is as big as Fallout 3, yet has many more quests, more factions, much more interesting characters and is better in every single way. At the expense of that, the game naturally feels unfinished and was very buggy at release.
- The lack of proper QA from Bethesda.
- Having to cater to the same audience as Fallout 3, which is the reason the game is so piss easy.

Other stuff is indication that open world RPGs like Fallout 3 simply aren't Obsidian's thing, like exploration being the focus of the game that is supposed to be an RPG.

I would love to see what Obsidian could do with the Fallout license in their hands.

Almost every mod I use for New Vegas makes one out of two things better:

- The gunplay (thanx Bethesda for Oblivion with guns)
- Ramps up the difficulty by making the existing mechanics deeper (thanx Bethesda for shallow and meaningless mechanics)

Ironically the only thing that doesn't need ramping up is the weapon modding, the iron sights and the survival mechanics, because they were added by Obsidian and are fairly cool already.

Alright I'll give it to you, Ulysses was badly written. The thing is, basically everyone in the new vegas community agrees with that. If you actually went to new vegas threads you'd see that there's usually one person complaining about him. So you really didn't prove your point about nv fans only praising the game and never saying any negatives, since according to you Ulysses having bad writing is a major negative.

- Four have made it to the RPG Codex's Top 70 PC RPGs. Only Daggerfall and Morrowind have made it to that list, from Bethesda.
- One is hardly an RPG (South Park), the other is considered shit (Dungeon Siege III).
- Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny have been rated much higher than Fallout 4 by that same forum.

It's no contest once you ask actual RPG fans and not your typical casual gamer and "professional" reviewer.
