There's a trick you can do to save a dueling crest.

Use two on the first day, win every fight (for a total of 9 wins).

Get your tenth win in, win one more if you want, but save the last sword until one minute before the day changes, use the sword but don't actually select the difficulty yet, wait until the refresh happens, and then pick it. Then just win 9 more times and you'll save a dueling crest.
