What is the absolute best racing video game? Looking for something I can play the shit out of without getting bored, gives you customizing, and preferably open world but doesn't have to be. I was thinking of getting GT6 or NFSMW since I can buy it in the PS store

Also I'd prefer a game that's actually challenging and requires skill and not just you holding gas and turning the stick

Need For Speed Modern Warfare?

Forza Motorsport / Forza Horizon.

if you buy anything else you are homosexual

rFactor Pro

I don't have an xbox and I'm not buying one for that shit

Horizon 3 isn't the best Horizon, but if your PC is windows 10 see if you can run it.

Playing forza horizon automatically makes you a homosexual

>have shit internet
>Buy FH3 for PC
>Spend two days downloading it because i cant use the computer without internet
>all 55GB done
>"Could not install"
>Everything gone

fuck you, microsoft

There isn't one, best is subjective.

If you want to emulate games check these out.

Ridge Racers
Midnight Club Dub Edition

>OP already posts the awnser to his question with the pic but none notices..

What game is this?

NFS U2

NFS Underground 2.

>Has the most impressive list of visual upgrades you can apply to a car.

>Free roam map.

>Good driving physics, mix between arcade and simulation, you won't be taking turns at 300km/h like the recent NFSs.

>No annoying cops.

>Plenty different racing modes.

>All time classic of the PS2 era.

If you don't know this you should seriously consider necking yourself.

>blaming a company because you downloaded their game at mcdonalds

i live ina hole in the ground damnit. Besides, i did have it downloaded all, it just didnt install properly

>be playing ridge racer on psp
>unlock raggio
MUH DICK

Whiplash

Anyone ever play shift 2 unleashed? I've heard that game is pretty hard but is it good?

TDU is the most comfy car game I've ever played.

Sequel is god awful.

Sequel had potential but Atari folded before it all could be fixed.
TDU1 got its servers back up, though, look up Project Paradise.

DIRT 3

Are the newer ones as good or no?

Its a NFS'd version of Pcars but with shittier physics, good game but if you play Pcars 2 you'll find it hard to go back to the old style physics

Shitty opinion coming through
>Cruiser Game With Little Customization
TDU2
>Enraging odd physics and AI
GRID 1/2
NFSMW 2005
>Arcade for fucking around
NFSU2
High Octane Drift
NFSTR

OP here I decided to go with GT6, did I do good?

are there any racing games similar to the good old Tokyo Extreme Racer series?

I've played many racing games.
Gran Turismo/Forza are by far the best.

GT6 is fun with many options of vehicles, 5 versions of the same car is both annoying and fun for some reason.
Low customization overall, rims, paint, some aftermarket parts.
GT4/5 is more enjoyable only for the reason that there are cars from the 1800's and other obscure vehicles.

NFS is boring to me. It's much more arcade and not as fun overall.

>tdu2 removes the car transport missions where you can chill and cruise
Literally the only reason i had tdu1 installed, the janky ass roads piss me off.

Disc or PSN? because the PSN version has hella lag
And no that game is incredibly basic

Import tuner challenge

Oh shit are you for real? I brought the PSN version, on ps3. Are you strictly talking online or in general? If it's only online then I don't give a shit

Is there any game that comes close to what I got playing GT4?

not your description but best racing game is daytona usa

>impressive visual upgrades
You mean FUBAR-tier ricing? Seriously disgusting.
>Mix between arcade and simulation.
Gran Turismo games are arcade sims. This is as arcade as it could get. OP has picrelated. You can't seriously think this.
Otherwise I agree that it's a classic and I also love it. Many childhood memories with this.

well not realistic by any standards but The Crew has the biggest open world of them all
I spend 1-2 hours each day just hooning in my Bimmer or my 1000RR BMW going wherever I want to and doing 300+ on the highway
its fun if youre a roleplayer
i use keyboard though, wish i had a wheel, always spin the wheels in any gear

>tfw fwd cars drift better in nfsu2
>tfw rx-7 is best grip car
This game is bs desu

>weird ricer shit upgrades with shit vinyls

>agree

>good physics
>literally can flip people of the road if you're fast enough

>cops are bad

>this, this is pretty good

>definitely this

I like nfsu2 and I even still have Lan parties with it or play online with Hamachi but it's no way a good racing Sim

GTA 5

This unironically if you wanna cruise

pic related

...

My nigga

Downhill from Pro Street on out.
Yes I liked PS.

>you won't be taking turns at 300km/h like the recent NFSs.
That's because they took the physics from the burnout games

Tdu 2 was shit with all those licenses you had to earn, tdu 1 was cool but online and dlc cars didnt work

I own it but i quit after a few days

Shift was nice

also the new Hot Pursuit wasn't bad

Fucking love this game, used to play it for hours...
>huurrr not a racing sim
he never said it was a full on sim

I enjoy it because it's more arcadey than project cars personally, yet you still race on famous tracks. That said it leans toward more realistic physics, but i wouldnt call it a sim ever.

video games are amazing. THIS is what makes games fun.

>play Forza Horizon 2
>buy jeep wagoneer
>mod it till its A or S1 class
>play online
>faster than all the super cars
>cant turn
>piss off supercars by slamming into them to turn

Seriously, most fun i had on open mic races where people would laugh when the rusty wagoneer would fly by them.

honestly Forza Horizon, the first one was pretty decent.

As far as car selection went anyway., they still sucked some super car/ferrari dick, but you could get some good ones.

I wish they had more generics like Forza 4 had.

looking back, actually Forza 4 was really fucking GOAT, i mean Top Gear Clarkson doing the voice, the amazing car selection, drivetrain swaps, engine swaps, some beautiful fucking tracks. I must've done like, 3 playthrough cycles, and had millions and millions before I just started doing nothing but blowing money on making cars and doing empty test track runs for eternity.

Forza 4 WAS the the best of them.

My bad you're right
Nfsu2 is pretty good tho desu
Lan is pretty based and closest you'll get to the good old ps2 days without a ps2

>Good driving physics, mix between arcade and simulation, you won't be taking turns at 300km/h like the recent NFSs.
no.

get dirt rally, dirt is garbage cause it just shoves khymguna down your throat

i would recommend i had shift 1 one played the shit out of it

who /stuntgp/ here?

...

gta 4 has good realistic barge driving

>No annoying cops
pleb

Juiced.
It's fucking amazing. One of the most underrated video games ever.

GET OUT

>Aussie mole internet access

Is Forza 4 available on Win10?

Nope.
