At first I was inclined towards the Vintners but blood so far has been a non issue.

Base surprise chance is 10% for both you and enemies. 75+ light gives you 25% more chance to surpise enemies for a total of 35%, 0 light gives enemies a 40% bonus for a total of 50%.

The only way to reduce enemy suprise chance to 0 is with trinkets or camping skills. Those are also the only ways to increase your chance to surprise enemies, caps at 65%.

Stacking surprise chance is OP btw.

I hadnt played in ages until Crimson Court came out. Was he buffed? He always felt a bit awkward to use for me.

The bonus to finale also seems to encourage a shuffler sort of party which never clicked well with me.

he basically 1 shots 1 enemy at the start of every fight with the district, you can stress heal/buff or move into position for bleeding or another finale afterwards

yes, bring an arbalest, 2 occultists and leper, occultists spam mark and debuff on him while leper mops up the pews and arbalest blasts the prophet to oblivion

So I just tried my first Champion quest. Went for a short one in the Warrens, first encounter had a Swine Skiver on the back row that critted and nearly brought my entire team to death's door on turn two. What do you do to deal with these things?

It's not.

You can't destroy the Hag's cauldron but you can destroy the pyre.

You can completly ignore the cauldron and quicky kill the Hag because she has only 135 HP and no PROT while the Fanatic has 203 HP, and 15% PROT that he often buffs to 40%.

He also deals much more damage that the Hag.

Stack suprise chance or SPD, especially first turn SPD and kill it before it gets a turn. It's that simple.

The Skiver is the worse of the champion enemies. like said, you gotta focus his ass as soon as you can.

Newfag here what is the occultists purpose? I just got my first occultist and he was brought to deaths door in 3 rooms and then healed himself for 0.
The vestal just seems superior and less inconsistant.

Debuff, pulling guys to the front, hitting back row, and healing. His heals are more inconsistent but he can heal for a far larger amount than the vestal.

he's a utility, someone who can debuff a targets damage or dodge chance, stun them at the cost of some torchlight, heal people, drag important targets forward with pulls, whip the backrows with ceiling spaghetti or just straight up stab a fool with his knife

Debuff, mark, fuckhueg heal when it work, destroy eldrich enemies

Vestal is all about consistency, Occultis for healbombs, debuffs and fantastic damage against eldritch

Vestal is a shitty healbot that can't do anything else well.

Occultist can debuff, mark, deal AoE damage to ranks 3 and 4, decent single target damage to ranks 1-3 and heal on top of that.

Divine Comfort alone makes her better than the Occultist.

You can't outheal the damage eneimes heal in champion. You only need Divine Comfort because your damage output sucks balls and you can't kill enemies before everyone is dying.

Have fun getting fucked by skivers and trying to outheal their AoE while I kill them turn 1.

That's all she needs to be. The occasional stun is handy but being able to heal the entire party for 7 every single turn is invaluable.

The cultists' crowns are the same as the stress effect on heroes.

The bottom line is heals are fucking useless as long as the damage dealers still exist. The optimal play is to get rid of the damage source heal when the immediate danger is gone, not spam AoE 7 heal while getting hit by 6-14 with 7% crit chance and 3 blight.
