Why is alphys heavily implied to have committed suicide in most endings where mettaton dies and also in the ending where mettaton becomes ruler

Alphys was already contemplating suicide, but losing either of her closest friends is what pushes her over the edge. Mettaton only becomes ruler if Undyne is dead.

Well first there was it being the #1 PC game on Metacritic for about a week. Then there was the 24/7 /v/ general where people actually stayed on-topic the entire time and were only booted out because MGSV fans were offended by the metacritic score. There's mountains of autism about this game, from lorefags and Let's Players to AUs of AUs, and musicians are still making remixes of the soundtrack a year later. Then there's gamefaqs poll where Undertale dethroned Ocarina of Time as the "best game ever". And now? Sony sees Undertale as profitable enough to release a 2 minute advertisement of the console port at E3.

Undertale might not be Minecraft-tier popular, but it's pretty high up there.
