Still needs testing to see if it's only equipable by musketeer and if the set bonuses work, someone please help!

I wanted to have a nice little dungeon crawl game to relax to and this game is stressing ME out more than its stressing my heroes.
like when a stunned character tries to take his turn >a brilliant confluence it just doesn't fit well with what is taking place

honestly, the courtyard content is kind of shitty. Crimson Curse is pretty much a death sentence for your units because the alternative is spending a goddamn year going through these massive fucking dungeonsthat seem mismatched to the suggested level. the first Crimson Courtyard mission is pretty much a veteran mission despite what it says.
and if you make the mistake of doing the first quest, every other area is going to be swarming with bloodsuckers and eventually cursing fucking everyone giving you no choice but to either try and not get fucked in the ass by a crocodile or just dismiss the characters you spent time building because they're as good as dead anyway.
Wyatt Allen
Not even the fanatic, no sweat.
The fight was cool but sadly he didnt try to burn my Flaggy more often.
At least my poor Jester crit him for 40 twice while my MaA chip away with riposte and the best boy just clean up house.
Also if Im retreat I will keep the trinkets of my death party and the extra Sanguine Snuff?

My gripes with CC >the only way to access the court is to grind the main dungeons for special mobs that may never spawn in a while under three tiers of infestations and spawn frequently at the four tier >there are only one type of quest instead of adding in a variety of quests >epic quest is CC only instead of introducing it in the other dungeons >districts are one-time purchase bonuses with some aren't worth their costs >crimson curse being more annoying than interesting by being a mediocre debuff with slight buff that acts more of a detriment to enjoyment because blood becomes a urgent supply to either grind more in hopes that the craved don't screw your quests or the wasting don't die >fanatic being a unavoidable stop to your quest by lotto instead of being a bonus boss like collector
On the other hand, I enjoyed most of the new experimental features what they implemented and the designs are absolutely stellar in how it pieces to the story while being standalone. Even the new mobs are differential enough that they feel like a new threat instead of a reskin of present mobs. Their mechanics are nothing we've faced before (a new curse threat, their primary damage dealers are in the back, transformations, draining attrition, pure damage traps). You gotta respect that they put a ton of thought in designing something new but at least half of what's implemented did poorly in execution. Blood being rare as intended, only got more common with every patch.

It's your damn fault for not giving your crusader something else to do like stress healing and getting people off death's door instead of hitting invincible plants

>tfw my musketeer doesn't have healing What did I do wrong?
Owen Cruz
The worst you can justifiably blame RNG on are some unlucky crits/dots/betrayals, and those only happen once in a blue moon. Things like party wipes are entirely your own fault.
There's also no way to actually lose the game unless you're playing on Bloodmoon, which should only be done after you've completed the campaign once before. On Radiant and Darkest there's no situation you can't recover from, it's just grindy and annoying to have to do that.

my stuff is no where near good tho
William Rivera
It's always the babbies who do dumb shit and can't get past the croc casual filter.
Dominic Rogers
to be fair the game did get a lot harder which triggers casuals
Oliver Brooks
But they added easy mode
Aaron Walker
doesnt matter because the mechanic itself is making the game harder
Samuel Sullivan
They can't tell it's easy mode because it's not spelled out for them and called easy mode. "Radiant?" the hell does that mean lol?
Joshua Cooper
Kinda what I'm thinking, too. "Plan for the absolute worst possible things to happen and you'll probably be fine" is easily the most important mantra for this game, but there's so many "this game is fucking BULLSHIT," 8 hours played, thumbs-down reviews. Shit's ridiculous.
>the game did get a lot harder
But shouldn't the bad reviews be on the DLC, then? It's not like the base game changed. There's just so many negative reviews on the base game this past month, though, so it's gotta be the fucking sale.
Hudson Gomez
>send rookies to warrens >do pitch black for fun >acceptablelosses.jpg >down to vestal BH and hellion in the last room >vestal dies of bleed first proc >bh dies in second death's door proc to rain of whips >hellion goes paranoid, crits bandit bloodletter to death while bleeding >survived 5th death's door to rushed shot and died on the 6th to bleed mildly salty right now that I almost got the achievement, RNG achievements should be banned

Should I just give up trying to keep my roster clean of the Crimson Curse? This is genuinely stressful. Nearly had an IRL heart attack when my team of veterans with good quirks ran into one of these. Miraculously made it out with no Crimson Curse, but I won't get that lucky again.
Shit's bretty terrifying.
Hudson Collins
>But shouldn't the bad reviews be on the DLC, then? It's not like the base game changed. There's just so many negative reviews on the base game this past month, though, so it's gotta be the fucking sale. you are expecting too much of retarded people
its probably the combination of the sale and the dlc so i guess you are partially right
Easton Bell
I'm betting the salebabbies are to blame. I left my negative review on the DLC where it belongs.
Robert James
The problem people have is that they believe that if they do "everything right" (like they did obviousy /s) the game should be a breeze. The thing is, it's Darkest Dungeon and sometimes, SOMETIMES, RNG will screw you over. Even if you have a bad run, it's never the end of things. You progressively get better with more trinkets, treasure, game knowledge, etc., But no, people get assmad that the game won't treat them the way they want to be treated so they bitch on the Steam forums and reviews.

Sometimes the dice totally fuck you and you don't win. The fact that so many people nowadays demand all games be winnable on their first try, simply by following an online guide, is fucking infuriating.

DS2 is the dark sheep but desu I think it gets unnecessary flak All the games are flawed as shit, but I liked them all, but 3 I find in many ways worse, it was a better game, but that's because it played it so fucking safe, at least 2 attempted to be different even if it's development was botched af

>you have to defend DS2 to shit on DS3 DS2 might be a worse game in a bunch of individual respects but at least an attempt was made. DS3 is as bad as it is for no reason other than that no one cared.

>The thing is, it's Darkest Dungeon and sometimes, SOMETIMES, RNG will screw you over. this is actually a really delusional thing RNG screws you most of the time, not misplays
in every single dungeon i enter there are situations where i could not have played better and i either get absolutely stressed or damaged on 1 single character because the enemy decides to just gangbang the guy or i just get an entire round of mine dodged etc. you can give an arguement to bring x trinket but given the diversity of the mobs and the classes and the scenarios, you cannot bring certain trinkets to everything
that doesnt mean that the game itself is bad but there is no counterplay to RNG and telling people that it doesnt matter means that they expect it not to be significant lets say you go to weald and the tree guy one-shots one of your characters because everything you did to him missed despite having high ACC, how are you supposed to play better then? its rhetorical
dadg itself claims that the game has no meaningful RNG, because they believe that if they say so that means they are good players because they can outplay the game this is wrong, but either way the game is amazing so fuck them
William Rogers
>any game >being as bad as ds2 Not even the shittiest garbage in the universe can match the design choices and direction of ds2 >you have to defend ds2 to shit on ds3 Literally every guy i saw shitting on ds3 had a huge boner on ds2

I didin't even remember he had an axe

DS2 had a lot of strengths desu
Of all the souls games it had the best covenants by a longshot. DS1, okay, you know, it was still kind of experimental, Demons didn't *really* have something quite like it so they were still learning. But what was the excuse for THROWING AWAY what they learned for BB and DS3??
David Roberts
Playing it safe 3 is probably better than 2, but 3 is basically REMEMBER MEEE, REMEMBER MEEE
Cameron King
ds2 was made by a different team the entire game is just randomly put together with shit lore, overflux of items and bosses the feel of hitting or getting hit is non existant your character is basically floating just because the game is long and they put 8 mobs at a certain place instead of 2 unique mobs that actually do stuff that doesnt mean the game itself is hard
the only reason people defend ds2 because they want to try to convince themselves that either they didn't spend money on something shit, that they cleared something hard, that the game they played was the best of the series despite not trying any other, that they liked it and the others didn't therefore they have shit taste
ds3 is actually loved and liked by the majority and as you say most of the time ds2 people are having issues with the game
i own and played all 4 souls games
das was my favourite by far because it had a great concept, good lore, good mapping, good item design and really good item access hope somebody will understand what this means das2 had none of that, it just had content fighting the same boss design more than once and not even just in one occasion is pathetic das3 is short, good to speedrun, good to watch, its das lite des also had good maps, good enemies, good item and drop design despite what the people who actually never played it say
Josiah Carter
DS3 and BB did have the shittiest covenants(outside of spear of the church) i'm not gonna try to hide it DS2 did at least try with the covenants while ds3 said fuck it and bb made it so that turning into a beast with no rank system or anything is now a covenant
Connor Parker
You mean that you can essentially get access to weapons of different playstyles straight out the tutorial right?
Isaiah Ward
Kill yourself soulsfag, paragraphs of autism in the wrong thread
This is why soulsfags are THE most cancerous fanbase on /v/, you're basically ponyfags. Gotta insert your shit into everything else. Look at those MULTIPLE PARAGRAPHS OF AUTISM you just posted about your SHIT GAME SERIES and remind yourself the title of the thread you're in.
OUT
Dominic Moore
DS2 and BB happened at the same time DS2 team didn't have the talent to make a good singleplayer experience especially after the complete fuckup that was the game before Tanimura showed up so they tried to hammer down the pvp as hard as they could
BB team was all DS1 vets so they spent the entirety of that game's development becoming the most woke team >realized that covenants were only ever just chores to lock you out of gear for half a dozen hours each and should embody extra multiplayer options at most >realized that shields shouldn't be crutches for poor players and have uses that go beyond defense numbers >realized that not every single thing in the story should cling to Mitsubishi's fill in the blanks meme for dear life and that should instead be delegated to one or two core concepts
Easton Jenkins
no i mean how the items are spread out across the das world
if you look at it and explore, for every given boss or zone there are items you can pickup by backtracking or entering zones for a brief moment that will help you a lot clearing the place you want to go to or kill the boss you want to
