That's the what I'm getting from reading the passage. That scene was trying to fuck over Sora via getting a rise out of Ven.

Yeah, the whole battle fucked Ven up and he's been spending 10+ years recuperating, but I don't see why there seems to be this prevalent idea that outside of Xehanort fucking with it again, that Vanitas is just lurking about the corner waiting to pop out at a moment's notice. Or that he's been just hovering the background this whole time when Ven's been on sabbatical this whole time. The Ultimania passage doesn't really seem like Vanitas is being a conscious entity as fo now.

Xehanort was explicitly fucking with Sora's heart pretty much all through DDD. It's entirely possible for him to have "summoned" Vanitas or whatever.

Save one file on backburner just in case, then let your main file wait out. Grind your beginner run until you have at least Leaf Bracer, then run the other two trophies. If you make it for the 15 hour cycle, great, if not, try it with your bigger file.
And if that doesn't work and they finally patched it, well then git gud and do it properly.

So hear me out, what if Sora has NEVER had his own Keyblade? All those people he's merged with, his fragmented heart connected to others, have kept him from being able to create his OWN Keyblade. The Kingdom Key, meanwhile, is still a sentient creature, choosing its master, and is actually not Sora's final Keyblade.

So in the end of KH3, once all the pieces are in play, and Sora is finally uncluttered, he'll be able to summon his own Keyblade, as the Kingdom Key says goodbye to him.

Keyblade potential can be granted by interaction with Keyblade Wielders. Kairi can wield because of her heart's time as part of Sora's, who had his potential from his time with Ventus. They can be given as inheritance to others, as how Aqua has Eraqus's Keyblade. Also, when you die, a Keyblade doesn't just vanish, it's sort of the memento of what you were. Whether to be picked up again by a revived person, or inherited by a successor. The Graveyard is Keyblade Warriors who fell without a successor, so their keys lay in the dirt to rust.

He just sort of has one. It probably has something to do with Xehanort fuckery, because that's how Ventus got his keyblade (Xehanort's apprentice). The reason why Kingdom Key D is totally unrelated and everyone forgot about the Keychain mechanic is because Nomura has no idea what he is doing.

That's not why Aqua has the Master Keeper. She has the right to wield it as Successor of the Land of Departure. You never pass on a literal Keyblade through inheritance, only the ability to wield.

Riku lost his Keyblade but not his inheritance, so using the Soul Eater as a medium, his heart created Way to the Dawn when he was once again fit to wield.

the Kingdom Key in general is interesting to think about especially after seeing that the x-Blade is visually made from two of them. very clearly it's kind of a default design for keyblades, but it isn't the only default one so having the Kingdom Key right away has to be very significant. on a purely visually level it makes sense for Sora, who has a crown necklace, to wield a weapon with the name Kingdom Key. of course Riku had it too but eh. the actual keychain being Mickey is also weird now.

glad I'm not the only one who noticed they stopped mentioning keychains as times as go on. and yeah the Kingdom Key D's existence is just weird at this point. the x-Blade really should've had that on it instead of just two Kingdom Keys.
