I had a SQ42/SC Package with an Aurora LN upgraded to an Aurora Titan.

Melted that shit, bought it back, upgraded it to a Nox.
Bought another Nox with LTI and upgraded it to a Cutlass Black.

Did I make a mistake? I'm in love with the Cutlass already and love the upcoming rework.

So, you have a Nox with 3 months insurance and Cutlass with LTI?
That's not bad, you might miss out a bit without a starter ship, if that is something you care about.
If you don't care about skipping a tier, then you have a great start. If you are like me and want to feel the game from the start, pick up another LN.

I don't mind skipping the start, as small-scale hauling and a few fights here and there are the only what I need. Also, it's able to take some friends, which is something I don't want to miss.

You're fine, and I like the insurance setup. The Nox won't benefit from LTI as much as the Cutlass.

It's top speed in space is 1230mph or Mach 1.6 agl.

I actually thought the speedometer showed m/s which means if what the user says its true (550 m/s) then its idd greater than 340 m/s (which I quickly corrected).

PC gamers have to use 3rd party tools and view the data on a different screen. You want to do that with your PS4?

I'm working on a fun explorer / utility ship I can take out far away and do some pristine mining or whatever I want to do. I've been around 5.5k Ly from the bubble in my ASP-Explorer and kind of want to go back out there with my big ship.

Piracy is near impossible versus other players and kind of lame versus the AI, Trading is barely valuable once you have your first decent ship and mining is never worth the time or effort.

The game is all about the Combat, "Exploration" and Docking. Plus min/maxing with hundreds of hours of grinding for parts to gamble with in the RNG machines.

How so?

You need to pull them out of supercruise which 50/50 they'll submit or fight it (than its another 50/50 depending on factors).

If they submit they can usually just run and high wake (jump) to the next system within 15 seconds which is usually not enough time to destroy the shields of most ships, let alone the whole thing.

If you somehow get them to stop, and can be heavy and fast enough that they cant jump away, you need to scan them to see what they have, talk to them, get them to drop the cargo and then retrieve it before they run away. You can't see what a target has unless you're in normal flight mode.

Just destroying them will make you lose the loot. On top of all this, finding another human is semi-uncommon already. Oh also, you can force-quit out of the game before your ship gets destroyed and you'll be immortal/vanish in a few seconds leaving the other player with blue balls. Then they could just remember your name and block you from ever being seen by them again.

Why do people think Cutlass will go up in price? It's the only ship in 100$ price range and makin it anything above that would diminish its role as the supplementary/elementary pirate ship.

It got much bigger, gained a shitload of utility, gained cargo space, gained a size three weapon mount. Is now likely the most flexible small multicrew ship out there, Doing everything from gunship support to discrete cargo to dropship duty to vehicle delivery to live in intro MC starter ship. It even has an airshielded rear cargo door and Isolated Cargo bay for Easy EVA access.

And all for less than a freelancer or hornet. Maybe they want them to be literally everywhere so they'll keep the price low cus as things stand now its the clear and easy choice if you want to start out with a multicrew ship. But I doubt it will stay at $100.

The only real up in the air question about it is will it fit in the polaris Hangar. If it does there is not better ship to put there.

I keep wishing for a support ship, maybe a modified Type-9 that allows other ships to dock with it. Or be grappled by it forcing them to dock. To allow repair, refuel, resupply, transfer of cargo. Maybe even a large or huge weapon hardpoint "weapon" that's actually a retractable repair/restock robot arm. Or maybe just allow two ships to dock with each other on their cargo bays.

They're adding ship repair probes in 2.4

You're right. They have to integrate ship purchases eventually for *UEC and it would seem like a huge opportunity missed if they don't include rentals also. If they do rentals in game, it would have to be for *UEC, not REC.
