Pic related, my baby and my reason for living.
FC Is my attainable dream car, Desu. I just need to find one that isn't complete shit.
I bought one that needed/needs a lot of work, and almost none of it so far has been dorito related, it's almost all been cleaning up the driftfag PO's fuck ups.
Yuh

bumb for history in the making
Nice FB/SA user, how is your 12a doing?
Bumping a redundant thread after 1 minute.
Holy fucking newfag batman
...
big fat fucking nigger big far fucking nigger
mine
most fun car i will ever own
more like gayester car ever concived
It's in great shape, right now I'm replacing the old o-rings in the oil filter pedestal.
Unfortunately I crashed my FC trying to be Dagumi on some backroads a few weeks back. She still runs and the frame is somehow still straight, so a friend is buying it off me to restore her back to glory, but until I find another project FC, I can only live the Dorito life through you fuckers.
Nice 8 m8. Was tempted to get one to replace my 7, but ended up getting an Integra since all the 8's in my price range had blown motors, or were on their way out.
>killing a thread to poat the same thread that only has 74 replies.
At least wait for the first thread to hit bump limit faggot.
Nice, I need to sort out my cooling issues in my FC.
Good luck user, hopefully its not too much wrenching.

I have a theory, it looks like the leak is coming from the radatior cap on the fill neck, I replaced the cap today and it didn't seem to help much, so my current theory is that the plastic piece that the cap attaches to is damaged.
Have you tried red lining it for a few hours with milk in it to fill any gaps?
Dude, why not just let that thread die to let this one stay? Stop being an autismo, damn. The last thread sent to the archive was only 23 posts long anyways.
Because this thread is a copy of an already active thread, and a waste of a thread.
Whatever man, sperg harder I guess.
>milk
I haven't heard that one before, but my redneck friend with a c5 suggested eggs.
Sure will. Helps get the thread to bump limit. And wastes night Veeky Forums time. Which I take it is exactly what OP wants anyways.
Eggs work too. As long as it curdles or stiffens up.
I'd rather fix my shit proper, my FC already has enough issues as is.
Rotardry. So shit not even the rx8 could save it.
The RX8 was a product of and killed by the emissions Jew.
G'day cunts. I'll be posting often in this thread about my recently bought project FA4TS, would start now but am on lunch.
>pic related, the pic from the ad
you're planning to swap in a rotary I assume?
Nah mate it's already got everything save a diff and stronger driveshaft.
>RX3 crossmember
>RX4 13B Bridgeported 4-port irons with import housings, unknown rotors
>51 IDA Weber & manifold (not pictured, had it off to chase the inlet thread)
>S1/RX7 box w/ 4E clutch
>Gold Simmons, complete jailbar grille, came with a rear model badge off of a different year.
>Front seats torn and covered, dash cracked, dash and doors cut to fit a sound system, new carpet + rattle trap.
Plan is to get it through the pits and then go right through everything; not only to learn about it all, but get it to the stage where I won't have to touch it every time I want to drive.
All work except panel, paint and upholstery will be done by yours truly.
Is the fc a good first car? I have some knowledge on the rotary engine and I'm prepared to fix my car often. Also S4 or S5?
>tfw bought my rx7 just in time for the rotary renaissance on Veeky Forums
I just got some major projects done on mine,
>fixed exhaust leak and deleted all the cats, replaced them with a 2 inch pipe I had lying around back to the stock muffler
>removed rear sway bar, ironically improves handling because FB's bind axles because of their watts link, causes snap overseer
>replaced bushings in watts linkage and modified them to further reduce watts link bindage
>lots of rust grinding and undercarriage painting
>buzzed off black paint some fag put on the chrome trim trying to black it out
>shined up the intake manifold
Once I get my second car I'll be doing a s4 intake swap, a full racing beat exhaust and doing a couple mods here and there that theoretically should bring the car to almost 200hp, the cat(s) delete alone livened her up a bit.
That's cool as shit
S4 is considered more reliable so I hear.
No, it's not a good first car, buy a 3K civic. And always S5 better aesthetics, more power, and a slightly more durable interior.
>tfw no rx9 at tokyo motor show
is it even possible to take a photo worse than this?
is that the h6054 replacement with the little white outine?
its financial suicide if i got it, its not even running
but damn the idea of having one makesm e moist
non turbo rotaries are fairly reliable. Easy peasy to rebuild even when they do break. Go for it
got damn I want an fc on old ssr wheels so bad
my boss has a 800 hp turbo lq4 fc.
>rotary engines have cooling issues.
Does that mean they're perfect for the winter? I'm imagining throwing some thicc winter tires and how good that would look.
>want to swap in a 13b in my miata
>cant figure out if i want to have someone fab up engine mounts and awkwardly put it in or get that premade subframe for 2k and do it like that
darn
no, youll actually have more trouble starting it in the winter than normal unless you have a canadian model
1983. my first car, mom bought it in 96 drove it until 04 when it was given me. Recently swapped in a 13B turbo from an 88 RX-7. Also has a 4.07 final gear instead of 3.90, aluminum flywheel, summit racing ignition box, and other junk
the 84-85 models had lowered trailing arms to help reduce snap oversteer. I'd recommend a racing beat adjustable rear sway bar, rather then not having a swap bar.
Fuck its not fair you americans get fc for ao fucking cheap. Half decent Fc in aus is 15k.
Take a better photo so i can actually see thr car lmao
the US models had a manual choke on the 12A, and they had a sub-zero starting system. What did the canadian models have that made them easier to start? Also, they're only hard to start in the cold if they're getting low on compression
the canadian models (13b btw, not 12a) have a heater built into the block to warm them up before starting
afaik its exclusive to the canadian model but i might be wrong
are you talking about the SA/FB or the FC and later ones? sorry, i didn't specify I was talking about the first gens. I have an FC engine in my 83 but I didn't see a heater or whatever. Mine is a jap model though
How easy is it to K20 swap a Rx7?
>Mine is a jap model though
thatd do it, then
its a lil thing you put into i think either a freeze plug or something? i honestly cant remember and just run it for a bit to warm it up
like i said i think its only on canadian models but im sure you could find some in the states if you looked hard enough
Nah. Just some cheap $30 replacement housings I had to get after the first accident a year ago. Only looks like an outline cause of the flash.
I crashed my FD almost 3 months ago while driving on a night when I should have known better. I hit a puddle at full throttle and instantly hydroplaned into the side of the ramp I was on. I wasn't as lucky as you though. My frame got messed up pretty badly, and the damage is so close to the firewall that it can't be repaired. On the bright side, nothing significant inside of my engine bay was damaged, so I still have a perfectly good drivetrain.
but a step up in lighting right? are they plug and play?
Pls don't.
there's still time
>2020
dorito was a mistake
-le mans losers, 1991-1991
Is anyone here going to talk me out of dailying a rx8?
Reporting in
Some things to consider are the mpgees and you're probably going to flood it a few times when you're getting used to things.
Shit dude, crashing an FD... like, it sucked crashing my FC mostly because of how much time I've spent working on it and kinda got attached to it. But it was real cheap. Picked it up for $1,700 when it still had original panels on it. An FD is like, $13k+ these days for one with fading paint and shit.
Eh, they didn't make a huge difference DESU. And of course they are, they were housings. They still used the same old H4 bulb.
I know. I can't think of any logical reasons to try and DD one but there's just something about it that's hard to resist.
If I'm going to be in my car at least twice every day, I'd like to be happy while driving it.
Beautiful car user
Convince me not to spend all my money on an rx-8 for a first car
japs are worse than spics
Is confirmed?
No
renesis
Holy fuck that hurts to look at
>it hurts to live
brother
How is this a problem? As far as I understand they fixed some of muh mpeegees and ported it.
I heard they respond poorly to tarbos and you can't really port them much further
No tarbo torqueless motor in a heavier car. Everyone says it's underpowered. Also less reliable (if that's even possible) than other Mazda 2-rotors. Get a molested FC since you're going to inevitably wreck it anyways.
Still broken
Still no time to fix it
you better find some time to fix it you asshole, look at her, are you gonna leave her in a sad state like that? What the fuck is wrong with you?
I live in the city and car is out at a family Property
I literally don't have the time
Its in a fine state by the way :^)
Here's a photo from 6 days before the accident.
DELET THIS
DELET THIS TOO
A worse case scenario, it could be a water ring in the block. They fail eventually, and can even be pinched during the rebuild and start leaking immediately
