HL2 has been optimized to run on toasters, so of course the Xbox could run it. It also had Doom 3, UT2003, Unreal 2, KOTOR, Morrowind... The original Xbox was the only one that could keep up with PC on that generation

Good level design: varied and branching paths, yet coherently laid out. Good balance between vertical and horizontal, greater importance placed on horizontal. Graphics not a cluttered mess. No seemingly random placement of objects.

I think 2, 3, and 5 are the ones I see most often cited as the best. Personally I haven't played 5 so I can't comment on it, but I prefer 3 to 2 slightly.

No, the SNES is the same as a Super Famicom, just with a different shell, AC connector, and RF modulator. Of course, if you're a PAL degenerate you'll need some kind of 50/60 hz mod to play Japanese games.
