Citroen made a V8? Or did they outsource?

It's a 5.4 Ford v8

>made
making one brainfart concept model =/= car production

Peugeot slapped two of their 3.0l V6s together to create a 6.0l V12 with ITBs.
The entire concept was fully functional, had 800hp going straight to the rear wheels, and they never even considered building more than one.

The GTbyCitroen was a production car.

>and they never even considered building more than one.
I can understand that nobody would have bought it, but it's a shame even the French are making nothing but boring cars these days.

Are there even any ones in productions?

There is only the new overpriced Alpine.

And then there was the RCZ but that was lelfwd.

Renault made a Lotus Elise at some point as well.

it's a shame it's overpriced, because that's one good retro looking car

It's priced similarly to the 718 Cayman and Alfa 4C, the real shame is that it's DCT-only (like the 4C).

Jesus fucking Christ.

The Spider makes and Elise look as practical as a Camry. It has no roof and originally didn't even have a windscreen.

Yeah its a shame.

But its looks, its MR layout and the low weight of 1080kg/2381lbs make it very interesting.

Now we need to know how good it corners.

>It's priced similarly to the 718 Cayman and Alfa 4C
when you have the choice between a renault and a more powerful porsche for the same price what do you choose?
but I agree the biggest issue with the car itself is the auto only gearbox

The car has to be lower priced than the Porsche to have a future.

so nobody knows if they actually build some or what?

...

Was it really? I don't believe they actually made any besides the one we see here

Looks like a sharper and squarer Saturn SC2

While A110 coupe was originally announced with 1.8 turbo i4 engine, they may add a V6 Mercedes engine, at least in the upcoming sedan derivative, considering they have their co-op going on.

France is obsessed with fwd for some reason

Blame this car. Unibody construction, FWD, and independent suspension all round.
First produced in 1934.

They made like 10

My Dream Car

One of the most aesthetic cars imo

they built 1 functional car

p-papa?

I really really want a venturi

they're cheap as hell man

Is there a name for the fender corners looping down onto the splitter and hood? BMW's begun doing that as well.

>grain
>chromatic aberration
thats a render

Why bother with one V8 when you can have two

Every French car is shit, didn't you guys watched Jeremy Clarkson on top gear ?

because we all would love to drive a beetle on steroids

I know you're memeing, but it's actually kind of true, some exemples off the top of my head

> Peugeot make the 406 coupé, one of the most aesthetic car ever
> They make it fwd

> Renault sport keeps on making boring shit, once again exclusively fwd

> Citroen goes full hipster, throwing they legacy of comfy luxury cars to hell, and only makes safespace-tier shit like the cactus, or normie stuff like the DS lineup

> The only current RWD car produced by a french manufacturer is the Twingo, with enough nanies to keep you asleep all the way

and not even the most hardcore frenchman will look you straight in the eyes and say that it's a french car.

La vie est souffrance.

The french are only good at styling and hot hatches. They are fucking awful at everything else.

because they're crap

>not even the most hardcore frenchman will look you straight in the eyes and say that it's a french car.
I got some alsatian friends that would beg to differ

>Renault sport keeps on making boring shit, once again exclusively fwd

clio rs is still good
not as good as the old clio II rs, but it still has soul

They built 6. One was owned by Justin Bieber.

>rx7 fd top
>sc300 headlights
>brz bumper
>miata NC hood
>fiata sides

lol no
if you're looking for inspiration, look at pic

delusion is hell of a drug. Bugatti was an Italian, the brand died for nearly half a century, and is now owned by VW.

At that rate, the Yaris is produced in France, by frenchmens, at a much higher rate, it doesn't make it a french brand I think.

A little bit of exageration but you catch my drift I think.

Sure it's the least worse, but it doesn't make it the best. I mad af at Renault for Killing the gordini brand, making the alpine brand so exclusive and single handedly Killing nissan, while they had a shot at reviving them.

In my eyes, the only good clio was the williams

>800hp
It's actually 500. Still a damn shame they didn't actually push it to production.

Isn't that a turbo 4cyl vacuum cleaner engine ?

Theres also the Megane RS, which is really good too.

holy fuck that interior

>tfw not a single modern French car has over 4 cylinders and 300hp.
Why do any single French car manufacturer has to follow the cuck mindset ? While at the same time anglos, krauts and ritals all manage to create great sportcars ?

And don't tell me Bugatti is French.

>cuck mindset

the answer is in the question

France nowadays is like a big nanny park

Why are French car companies so boring?

Would anything of cultural value be lost if they call closed down?

>Would anything of cultural value be lost if they call closed down?
Sadly no. Every single French cars are appliances nowadays.

Sure, the RS and the GTI are still somewhat interesting, but at the end of the day they're just suped up econoboxes.

I wouldnt call them boring, they make a lot of wonky cars like Citroen cactus and the new RR Twingo. They just dont really make all out sportcars.

Their concepts are still very much worthwhile, I just wish they'd put some into production already. Looking at you, 308 R HYbrid.

no dumbshit that's literally the same car

there is hope in the new alpine

>> Peugeot make the 406 coupé, one of the most aesthetic car ever
>> They make it fwd
This should have not gone unpunished.

I’ve seen them at car shows

one of the best and most influential cars ever made right there

aye best cars ever made have come from France

well it was based on the fwd 406, so that makes sense
but I feel you anyway

although they did even worse: they ruined it with a restyling

even making the 406 sedan fwd was a blasphemy.
if i'm not mistaken the only french car to make a name for itself in america was the 505

yeah but it really couln't have been any other way, fwd is way too prominent in french car industry
maybe because citröen invented it, I don't know

btw this conversation made me realise that pic related was probably fwd as well

>Taxi
This movie should be considered a documentary on 1998's Marseille. Perfectly captured the atmosphere of then.

>nostalgia intensifies

Nissan makes one of the best 5 litre v8 engines in existence but does not use it in any production vehicle, how does this make you feel?

>that ITB set up

Hnnnng

>600 horsepower
>480 pound-feet of torque
>naturally aspirated

To be fair its pretty difficult to find any verifiable info on this thing. To make it even more confusing the GT5 version of the GT by Citroen road car, while stated to be using a V8, has the exact specs and engine sound of the S85 V10 found in the BMW M5.

>cities starting to ban diesel cars from entering their city centers
>soon will not be able to drive any of my french voitures around Europe
it's not fair, I never lived through the glory years

they tied 8 jews together and arranged them in 2 rows

...

There's nothing wrong with unibody and independent suspension Cletus. Not everything needs to be based in pickup truck parts.

>diesel cars

sorry to break it to you pal, but in Paris, it's every car built before '98.

As a former parisian, it fuels me with unlimited rage.

Meanwhile hipsters and bobos are filling the place with SUVs and Uber and their fleet of diesel shitboxes have filled the gap.

I hope hidalgo is gonna choke on a fat cock or something

so it's not a production car

HAHAHAHAHAHA

kek i never seen this shit haha
thx user

>2.0
kek

yeah we ( french ) are good into make good concepts.
>which never gonna go in production

seems like somebody had to buy 1-year bus pass subscription again so he has to blow off some steam on chinese cartoon board

>500bhp hybrid 308
I would totally drive one, but it doesn't change the fact that Frenchmen are crazy.

Probably faster in a circuit than your bus ticket
