Everyone knows that. They're the only Classic games that Sega actually acknowledges these days.

They're pushing their luck if they're adding Chemical Plant as a zone for Forces. Any more than and that's still probably about 1/4 of the game being old zones.

Momentum-based movement isn't nearly as amazing nor important as the fanbase pretends it is. There are other completely valid ways to "earn your speed", and trying to make Sonic exactly how it was just isn't cutting it, it's simply not as fun for people as you guys think. It's why outside of circlejerk bubbles like /sthg/, Forces is exciting people more than Mania is.

I could say the Adventure games, but you'll counter with "objectively bad" or "aged poorly." There's the original Sonic Advance, the Rush games, Colors, and Generations. And, regardless of your opinions on the following titles, Advance 2, Advance 3, and Sonic 4: Episode I have received critical acclaim as well.

1,2 and 3k defined an era though. Modern has good games but it just hasn't been able to live up to the past. It really is easier to just disregard opinions.

Those games are still memorable and playable. The same doesn't go for the other classic games outside of 1,2,3, & CD - unless you count Knuckles Chaotix to some extent, but most people generally hate the gameplay of that one.

Chaotix isn't that bad once you get the controls down. The repetitive level design is a worse downside than the controls. Artistically and musically the game is fantastic.
